An ancient 15-pound lobster named Larry was saved from becoming dinner at a Florida seafood restaurant last week but has died in transit to the Maine State Aquarium, the Miami Herald reported.
When Joe Melluso, the owner of Tin Fish restaurant in Sunrise, Fla., first got the call about a massive lobster from his seafood supplier, he thought Larry could be 115 years old. After a picture of the lobster was broadcast on a local TV station, business owners and animal activists rallied to save him. They named him Larry and said he should live out his golden years in peace. iRescue, an animal activist group, and a team of local residents raised money for his travel from Florida to Maine.
Experts later estimated Larrys age to be closer to 60 to 80 years old.

A lobsters natural habitat is butter.
Larry, Smarry - used to eat lobsters (with lots of butter) of like size or bigger (older) all the time back in the day. Missed tasty opportunity for someone.
When Do-Gooders do you in.
That lobster would have to be for aquarium purposes only, even if he were just 50 years old, the meat would be tough and flavorless.
I think these same type of “good” people also rehabbed a penguin....put him out to sea with a monitor....they could hear the “chump”....when they said good bye....they meant it.
I like baby lobster that are raised in lil pens they cant even turn around in
Lobster= “cockroach of the sea”.

ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST 1: "Oh, no...he's...he's dead. This beautiful creature...dead. How horrible." (everyone in somber silence)
ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST 2: "This is awful. Our Gaia hating society did this to this poor creature, not us."
ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST 3: "Yeah."
ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVIST 4: "I get the tail!"(venomous glances from others)
I’m sure the “activists” held a candlelight vigil for poor Larry replete with drum circles and flowers.
[lobstahs that big are tough and chewy .... not a delicious as those under 2#]
LOL, good catch!
Nah.
I live 50 miles from the lobster dock in Portland ME. Those big old lobsters taste like s***.
Once you're over 2-2.5 pounds, you're not getting the biggest taste for your $$.
That having been said, these liberal; animal lovers are f***ed in the head.
I love loons - they taste like chicken.

I agree. LOL
That's funny, unless you're a brain damaged democrat...
When a lobster is caught it will have a day or 2 to feed on the swill and garbage in the pot before being hauled up. A couple of days in the tank will allow the crap to exit and then it's suitable for consumption.
In New York City, more black babies are aborted than born alive.
Just thought you’d like a little context for this post about lobster.
Lobster Lives Matter
I like Kobe lobster. It’s lobster fed with Kobe beef.
Well, I cannot speak for the taste of big lobsters today but 50 years ago they were very good - at least the ones landed in Jersey.
No one ever ordered lobster smaller the 5-10 lbs back then.
