OTOH, I think the competition is a bad as it has ever been. I hope it was good enough.

Donald Trump is no William Jennings Bryan, the great American orator.

But HE GAVE IT ALL HE HAD, put his heart and soul into it, delivered it flawlessly, displayed remarkable energy and endurance for his age and schedules, and spoke TO the people watching at home, not down to them.

He'll do the SAME thing for our country.

Interesting, I thought it was one of the best speeches I have heard...and I heard a lot of Reagan speeches.

It turned out, the speech was the longest acceptance speech in modern history, I think it went 1 hr and 20 minutes. When asked about this, his speech writer said by words, it was no longer than the standard speech; it went so long because of the crowd ranting and the standing ovations.
