Cruz is picking the wrong guy to tangle with in President Trump.
Cruz seems to be overlooking one thing: Trump is now the de facto head of the Republican party. And that means the war chest for down-the-ticket Republicans. With Cruz's low numbers in his home state, he might have trouble raising money for his senate reelection and GOP HQ may not help him so much.

Cruz will be lucky to hang onto his senate seat in 2 years.

Has Trump really been doing that well at fundraising?
It doesn't seem to be a priority for him.
Not compared to Hillary and other candidates.
I think the headline may be based on a misunderstanding.
Cruz thinks Trump will lose this time, so he's gearing up for his own 2020 campaign.
All the talk about "even if Trump wins" may not reflect how Cruz sees things.
IMHO

Why are we not upset with Kasich and Jeb Bushs treatment of our candidate? Maybe because we all knew Kasich and Jeb were worthless RINO. Many of us supported Cruz and contributed to him because we believed his phony conservative act before the facade was dropped.

Did you ever think that perhaps Cruz turned him down? Yeah, that's what happened.
You Cruzlims are all beyond delusional.

Makes every American sick, or it should at any rate.

I think you may be right. Many people have had enough of him. He thinks he was ‘chosen by the gods. What a pain.
To: Mariner
IF he does, it will be that Cruz is a glutton for punishment.
Seems he wants his political career to go down in flames.

He may not be re-elected to the Senate. They have called here twice a day for a week or more for support. Not this time!

Seriously? Why will Ted not GO AWAY!
He is not a natural born citizen thus is ineligible to be president. Constitutional savior......yea I think not.

...some have served their seven day suspension and are back at it. I've noticed. At least one I know of, is itching for a permanent ban.

OK. Youve set me straight, attacked my character, set up a straw man argument, and accused me of instigation. Youve really put me in my place and I hope you feel better. You diehard Cruzaholics just can't seem to get past your inexplicable infatuation with Ted long enough to open your eyes to all the things that have made his name toxic sludge on this forum.
As long as you're drunk on the Cruz-Aid, you'll never be able to have a civil conversation with anyone who fully grasps the despicable nature of that cretin, and who has the fortitude to come right out and say it. You'll be perpetually offended by every negative remark you hear or read about him, eventually closing yourself off from any discourse with the mainstream of conservative/Republican voters.
Life for people with your mindset is really going to suck, here at Free Republic.

When Ted Cruz got that certifiable psycho Glenn Beck to go all in for him, I knew he had gone to live in Lala Land Same here. Funny how that never seemed to bother the most rabid Cruzers. Nor did dozens of other eyebrow raising things.
I tell you - cultism is some powerful stuff. Can't break the spell with truth, logic, facts, or reason.

Its been confirmed that Douche Bag Cruz will take the podium. He's already said that he'll run in 2020 regardless if Trump runs again. He says for sure he'll run 8 years as well. He seems to have forgotten about Pence, too.
So, Ted will be Cruzin' for a double-douche-bag speech!

Constitutional scholar didnt know he was ineligible to run for President?
Exactly! Cruz along with Rubio were non-starters for president. Neither are eligible.
