I can see letting the EMTs come in for a check, but can the cops come in like that unless you invite them? I sure do not want them in my house for any reason, ever................

Cops inside houses tend to have odd things happen later.

Cops come in all the time with cause as a wellness check on the conditions of a senior citizen.
The Senior could have herself said something due to age that drew them in or a responder thought they saw or heard something.

In any case, I am 99% sure social services are coming Monday and they usually require two visits to clear up their paperwork.

Truthful statements like “Nobody Living Here Drinks” could help.
Do the elderly relatives hair and dress them nicely. Make sure they are clean and not smelly.
Do nails if that works. Show they are well kept.

The police come in first to make sure there is no obvious danger to the senior. Like finding her tied to the bed, eyes taped open looking dried eyed at a picture of Hillary.

On a drunk accusation I would expect the chances of a social worker coming in for an interview and inspection at 100%, but you might get lucky.

I had to report my son as missing the other day. The 911 folks and the police were extremely competent and professional. I invited the police readily into my home at 3:30am. It was a mess because we’re in the middle of painting the family room. Fortunately he is OK. ‘Nother story, ‘Nother time.

But my point is that when you really need them, you’ll invite them in in a heartbeat, and give them all sorts of information, to boot. And if everything is on the up and up they probably won’t pry unnecessarily.

My hat is off to the Baltimore County Police Department and 911.
