A new study, "The Gendered Division of Housework and Couples' Sexual Relationships: A Reexamination" looks at the sex lives of three types of heterosexual couples: conventional (the woman does 65 percent or more of the housework), egalitarian (the male partner performs 35-65 percent of the housework) and counterconventional (the man performs 65 percent or more of the housework).
No more. Today we enjoy "an eroticism of fairness," meaning an equitable arrangement no longer puts a damper on a couple's sex life and, in fact, boosts it slightly. Egalitarian couples had sex an average of 6.8 times per month, the study finds, which is 0.5 times more per month than conventional couples and two times more than counterconventional couples.
Hallelujah.
Previous reports, including a much-discussed New York Times magazine story from 2014, indicated that sharing the burden of domestic duties was a sex-life killer.
"But these studies relied on data from the 1980s and early 1990s, and thus represented marriages formed before the recent surge in dual-earner families and social approval of egalitarian gender roles," Sassler writes in a Council on Contemporary Families briefing on the new research

Get the chores done and go on to better things.
I’d like to have sex .2 to .5 times more per month, but I just don’t know if it’s worth the extra work.
In light of your comment, I’m not really sure *what* to make of your username...
Dueling fraudulent studies:
http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/men-who-do-housework-have-less-sex/
Sounds like feminist propaganda to me.
not really. The article I posted says the guys who get a tad more sex if they share more equally than guys who do less housework. But the article I posted says the guys who do the majority get it half as much. There is a consensus here: Do too much and get less sex.
I bet they also found that the couples reporting the best sex were Progressives, politically, right? These studies are nonsense.
As a male I can definitely say that two times a week is better than no times per week in my book.
Especially if they do them naked.
Har!
I agree (as a woman).
You are lucky to have it twice a week. Try a year.
Now I really cannot stand him. But that is not really true, because he is a very good person. Just moving here kind of wrecked us. I never wanted to leave the U.S. It was a sucker punch and I couldn't breathe when he told me about his job offer.
I know I am talking too much. It is a sad thing for me. And it takes so much energy for me to fix up the house, etc. I have been trying to paint, etc., in case we want to split and sell the house (which I don't want to do). Although I did do that by myself in Denver.
However, now, I love this place. It is in a rural area.
Oh my gosh, I am starting to cry.
It isn't fair for him to refuse me all the time. I realize I am a ... obviously a bad person.
I probably should not post this, but I just want people to know that marriage is a two-way street and it takes a hell of a lot of work. Sometimes, too much.
I actually have tears running down my face. I am sorry!
Good luck to you. For men, no, marriage isn't a good deal anymore. It never seems fair to them.
If both are working shared housework is good. If not, well, I don't know. I guess people have to come up with their own arrangements, and if there is love, things will work out in the end.
G*d Bless you and yours, FRiend. I probably should not have clicked on this thread when Hubby is downstairs. Normally, he would be there for hours, playing online poker, but, tonight, he actually finished loading the dishwasher, which I had started before going to bed. :)
Like I said, marriage is hard.
The wife can wash the car and change the oil. I’ll do the dishes.
See, works out fine.
Laffer curve applies to sex too?
Renew your relationship with God, your marriage will follow.
Another costly study to learn the obvious.

You've been a member of Free Republic and had the user-name proud American in Canada since July 12, 2001?! And after 15 years, are still moaning about living in exotic, foreign, rural Canada?! As if it were anything but a somewhat colder, less-sophisticated North Dakota?!
Regards,
So if one has a cook and a maid,no sex ?
Just damn
