Police investigate similar circumstances at Folsom, Rocklin shops
Multiple people have been taken into custody Wednesday in Oakland after a vehicle connected with a burglary at a Rocklin gun store was found in an Oakland neighborhood, according to KCRA's Bay Area affiliate KTVU

I attended a conference in Oakland a number of years ago that was hosted by the Omni Hotel in Jack London Square. Jack London Square was a very nice commercial area that was like an oasis in the middle of the Oakland blight. It was a very heavily guarded oasis, however. Every entrance into the area was guarded 24/7, and if I remember correctly all vehicles entering had to stop and at least state where they were going. It was like staying in Fort Apache, although the people outside the fort’s walls were probably less dangerous than those in Oakland.
