WASHINGTON, D.C., July 8, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – WWJD – What Would Jesus Do? – became a national catchphrase, inviting people to model their lives after Christ. Former President Jimmy Carter thinks he knows how the Nazarene would approach two hot-button issues of today.

“I believe Jesus would approve of gay marriage,” Carter said this week in an interview with HuffPost Live.

And he believes Jesus would approve abortion in the cases of rape and incest.

Carter told interviewer Marc Lamont Hill, “I never have run across any really serious conflicts between my political obligations and my religious faith.”

When Hill asked if Jesus Christ would support redefining marriage, Carter replied, “I believe Jesus would. I don’t have any verse in Scripture.”

Truth.

Not to mention that Jesus had no need to instruct His primary audience—Jews, under the law—about homosexuality. They knew exactly how God felt about it.

Paul, sent by Jesus later to the Gentiles, DID have to instruct quite often on sexual sin (incl. homosexuality). Paul speaks with all the authority of Christ since Christ called him to BE His apostle.

Yeah, let’s turn Jesus into the PC post-modern rev, complete with flat-billed ball cap and tats.

Forgetting of course that it was pre-Bethlehem Jesus telling Moses to write down the Pentateuch.

So sick of that tired old wheeze: “Jesus didn’t say anything about X.”

He still seems to have a lot of admirers in the Southern Baptist Convention.

Carter is not much of a Bible scholar. Both the Old and the
New Testaments teach against homosexual behavior AND
MURDER (abortion).

Over 40 yrs. ago, I had a Down Syndrome baby. - There were
no “tests” of “fetuses” in those days. I’d hope I would not
have been so callous as to “eliminate” him! - He had other
related physical problems and died at 6 wks. after major
surgery for a blockage.

These damned people such as Carter and all Democrats are
despicable people.

I was thinking about Jimmah a few days ago. He was also vilified as President. But we had none of the nonsense that we have now. His wife didn't take vacations with 400 of her best friends. In fact, I think when the Carters took vacations it was either to Camp David or Plains, GA. No Marthas Vineyard. No Hawaii.

I hope the Southern Baptists have already excommunicated him.

“he is reading a very different Bible than I am”

______________

Remember he is a “moderate Baptist”. He believes the Bible “contains the Word of God”, and he can reject whatever he disagrees with.

That way he can believe that his group has replaced Israel, and that the Palestinians have the right to the land that God gave Israel. He can promote violence against Jews, since he believes they have been rejected, although the Bible is very clear that Israel is the apple of God’s Eye.

He does not believe “the Bible is the Word of God”.

"When a yutz like Carter thinks he can speak for Jesus you know he’s lost his mind."

His initials have gone to his marblized head.

I think folks like Carter are really ignorant when it comes to speaking for Jesus and God.We must follow the Lord's instructions to the best of our knowledge and ability but we should never presume we have his wisdom.Pray and wish for guidance yes but if it is not in the word you are walking on thin ice and acting pompus.
