Colleen Burns, 35, of Orlando, was hiking with friends near the South Kaibab Trail on Friday when she accidentally slipped off an edge at Ooh Aah Point, Grand Canyon National Park official tells PEOPLE.
Park rangers located her body about 400 feet below where she was standing.

One friend who was with Burns on the trail described her final moments to WESH.
"She was just, like, stepping out of the way for another gentleman to, kind of, squeeze in," Jessica Roman told the station. "Unfortunately, Colleen just kind of got tripped up on her own feet and fell backwards. She fell into the canyon."

Ooooh,God-—my worst fear.
.
But you would know enough not to stand that close.
People like us may approach the edge with great trepidation to get a peek, but I guarantee neither one of us would turn our back to take a “selfie” if we were closer than 10 feet from the edge.
When I was at the Grand Canyon, at the Navajo Reserve, I saw a bunch of fools leaning over so they could either look like they were trying to fly or get a better picture. All I could think about was the possibility of a sudden gust of wind.
“stepping out of the way for another gentleman to...squeeze in”?
That’s why I make people take the outside.
Its not called “Ooh Ahh “ point for nothing.
No, it happened at Ooh Aah Point.
Of course, we may never know the thrill of being so close to the edge that stubbing your toe or something might launch us into the air, but...I suppose as we get older, we don’t need thrills like that.
It is a tragedy for her and her loved ones.
I really really think the Park Service puts those signs and fences up there for a reason.
I’d rename it “Ooh Ahh Oh No” point.
“She was just, like, stepping out of the way for another gentleman to, kind of, squeeze in,” Jessica Roman told the station. “Unfortunately, Colleen just kind of got tripped up on her own feet and fell backwards. She fell into the canyon.”
Kind of, like, yeah.
Should probably be called “Ooh aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Point”, given the length of the fall!
Sad but Darwin will not be denied.
I hate when stupid people dont get a second chance at life.
So why bother to mention the fact that she took a selfie hours before, when it had nothing to do with her fall?
Yeah, but the Park Service has been known to put solar powered outhouses under big shady trees, too, so...
Now known as "Ooh Aah Ouch Point"
“I suppose as we get older, we dont need thrills like that.”

I’m so old that I don’t need any thrills at all. :-)

Park rangers located her body about 400 feet below where she was standing.
So her body was found standing 400 feet below?
Grammar Police:
Park rangers located her body about 400 feet below {from} where she was standing.
