"Sterling, a Bloods gang banger and a registered Democrat, had quite the rap sheet before he was gunned down in an altercation with the police. The charges include battery, assault, drug and weapons charges, and being a dead beat dad. He was also a pedophile."

The “truth” about Phil Castile is that he was a school cafeteria supervisor who did have a carry permit - meaning that he’d never been convicted of a felony, a violent misdemeanor, or of illegal drug use.
Yes, there have been websites posting claims that he was a member of the Crips, but if that was the case the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Investigation is unaware of it, because bring listed in the Minnesota Criminal Gang Investigation System is an automatic denial for a carry permit.
Beyond that, the St Anthony PD has had past incidents of over-reaction when encountering armed permitted carriers.
I know nothing about Alton Sterling, but your characterization of Phil Castile is not supported by the facts.
I don’t trust anything I’ve read about this case. The conservative treehouse claimed he was a crip. They also made a huge deal that the girlfriend had married on her facebook and he had single. I’ll wait til all the facts come out clearly.

I beg to differ sir. I know several gang members in my state who have concealed pistol licenses because they have not been convicted of a domestic violence crime or a felony. That does not mean they are not criminals, however it also does not mean they get a shot as soon as you see them.
I have seen his Facebook pictures where he is both wearing crip attire and throwing up Crip gang signs.
A person does not put on a blue shirt and a blue bandana draped over his head and a blue ball cap and threw up a big letter c symbol with both arms along with other crypt messaging and not belong to the Crip gang, just as you do not go stand in the lobby of McDonald’s wearing a McDonald’s uniform and not expect people to believe you are an employee of McDonalds.
I am not declaring him the suspect in the armed robbery that the officer was investigating, however he does very striking resemblance to the person in the surveillance video footage, closely enough looking to warrant a Terry stop for further investigation.

Has his carry permit been confirmed? The county the shooting happened in (Ramsey) has stated it did not issue one. Have you found a source that shows he had one issued in a different county?

Well as someone who has been trained in the classroom and on the street to recognize gang attire symbols signs and messaging....I am confident in my assessment.
And to be clear... I’m not saying even a non felon gang member who is in possession of a gun is deserving to be shot. We just do not know what the officer said and reacted to that is not on camera or has not been released yet from the dash cam.
Lots and lots and lots of older gang members have straight jobs. So just having a job does not mean that someone didn’t behave in a manner that cause an officer to believe he needs to fire. Just like just because someone says they have a gun and you think they look like an armed robbery suspect doesn’t mean you’re blasting.
