If you love pets and animals and sometimes pray for them, I'm asking if you could say a little prayer for our kitty Ciel. She is only five years old, a sweet, smart Balinese. She was perfectly healthy and active until two days ago, when she started vomiting foam and stopped eating.
Today we took her in to the vet and she has acute renal failure and diabetes. He gave her IV fluids, some meds to fight nausea etc, and a little insulin. We are to give her sub q fluids and try to get her to eat. He says that she can recover completely but she needs to eat and keep food down. He gives her a 60% chance of survival because she is young and it is acute.
We love her so. She is usually riding on my son's shoulders or fetching toys for us to throw. Or annoying her older "sister" cat. It's unbearable to see her like this.
Thanks in advance for your prayers.
Hey there
This is what I suggest doing..take her to the Vet and have her get a fluid shot, basically she will be getting all the fluid necessary to last the day, that is what we did with Nemo when he had pancreatitis..and dont give her ANY fluid for the day..since she will be getting it injected into her it doesnt pass through her pancreas, therefore no vomiting will happen..the next day, give her a few sips of water, the tiniest amount possible and see how she handles it, pancreatitis takes time it can take weeks to recover from it fully
Sorry to hear she is still sick.
BTW Tigtig was very sick and seemed absolutely close to leaving the mortal coil for about 3 or 4 weeks. I do hope she recovers soon. Does the vet have any kind of useful diagnsis, or what caused this in a young healthy cat?
That s so encouraging to hear about Tig Tig. Ciel isn’t doing well. She is peeing where she is, and still vomiting. We go today in a couple hrs to the vet and will pay for IV for one day if it helps.
She was seen eating window clings last Thursday. Thursday night is when the vomiting started.
Intense prayers up, thank you Jesus.
Lord we thank you that nothing is too hard for you, and nothing us impossible to them that believe. We thank you for the love you have for this precious Ciel and those that love her so much. Your word tells us to always pray and not lose heart, so we ask again that you touch this beautiful kitty and restore her completely to the way you created her. We thank you and praise you, in Jesus’ name, amen.
Peeing is good, the kidneys are working.
Not in the box is not so good, she might be suffering pain yet and that is why. But could you set up another box out close to where she sleeps, so she doesn’t have to go trekking for it?
What are window clings? Maybe they’re in her stomach and the vet can get them out!!!
Prayers for your kitty, Yaelle.
Sad Update (Admin can you add to title of thread, with post #?)
Ciel’s tests showed her kidneys were not functioning any longer, no treatment, only merciful putting her down recommended. We were all heartbroken saying goodbye. She was the best cat and deserved 20 healthy years. I am so sad. We tried our best. Love to all her prayer FRiends.
Requiescat in pace, dear Ciel. We tried. Some cats can tough out such problems for a long time (mine did) but every case is different.
Will the spirits of departed animals reappear at the resurrection of mankind to serve them as company forever? Maybe. There was no doubt that Ciel, a creature in a world under the power of death, was going to die — the only question was when, whether many years hence or now. There’s a fascinating hint here:
Romans 8:19-21
19 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
I am so sorry.
(((((HUG)))))
Ciel only left her mortal frame behind. The soul you loved, is continuing on her journey. And she knew you loved her.
:*(
So very sorry. Lucky kitty to have such love in her life and lucky you for having Ciel in yours. We experienced just about the same several years ago with my 15 yo dachshund, Maxwell. We did the sub q twice a day for almost a year and the little guy just suffered too much, couldn’t eat, hardly could stand up at the end, so we said goodbye. Heartbreaking and understand your loss and pain. Prayers for all.
Thank you. If there aren’t cats in heaven I’m not going. Of course there are. I wish she could have toughed it out. I have no regrets about caring for her this last week, we did everything we could.
I’m sorry you were in this position. It’s so sad. My heart breaks especially for my son. I’m sure this is among the saddest days of his life. It’s not a very good one for any of us here.
Oh, God will make it well worth going. He’s the author of the love that Ciel brought to you. Ecclesiastes offers another little hint: who knows that the spirit of the animal goes into the ground and the spirit of man goes upward? Don’t be arrogant and assume this, is the message of the Preacher. God’s love reaches to all, even those who serve as sacrifices and elicit nothing but our deepest pity on earth. Because if that was the end of the story it would seem senseless. But it is not the end of the story.
Thinking of you all.
I believe it absolutely. Thanks for easing a sore heart tonight.
Little J, when we were all in there saying goodbye to her, she felt our love. She really appeared to understand. She had - has a spirit that could never die.
So very sorry. I feel your pain. I had to put down my sons 21 year old kitteh. You will see Ciel again at the Rainbow Bridge!
So sorry to hear. I’ve been checking early in the mornings(South African time) to hear how she was doing. Prayers up for you and your family.
Slings, this needs to be pinged for those who don’t pick up on the update.
