Remember when the Republican senators visited President Nixon to tell him "it's over" you lost Senate support. It is not the "shiny object" of the fact there was a unscripted meeting between the Attorney General and wjc, it is likely the message delivered to him followed by what has been said and done: the Attorney General, in so many words, saying she will accept the FBI recommendation and today, the FBI briefing HRC of their intentions. The trigger to me is the leak of a potential charge of violation of the Espionage Act.

I am not nearly so venerable in FReeper years as you, but I have noticed this particular peculiarity (and bear in mind that I have at this point never posted anything).
I can only conclude it is the modern conditioned response of regarding a re-post as some sort of validation: a corollary to the idea that if something is in print, then it automatically has more validity than if it were not.
It is, at its core, an inconsistent, if not irrational, response.

You have a point there. OTOH the “MSM” output isn’t news either - until it has been vetted on FR.
Trump says a little bird told him that Hillary! won’t be indicted. That is either right or wrong. If it’s right, Trump says, “I told you so!” If it’s wrong, Hillary is indicted, and what he predicted will not matter. In the meanwhile, Hillary has no response which is not worse than silence.What does Occam’s Razor have to say about that?
