But instead of trying to stop her teenage boyfriend from taking his life, prosecutors in Massachusetts believe that Carter pressured Conrad Roy III to go through with the act.
And on Friday, the states highest court ruled that she could go to trial for her alleged role in his death.
I hope they hold her accountable for her actions, Roys grandfather, Conrad Roy Sr., told the Boston Globe. She told him to get back in the truck. She prodded him on. All of the text messages are pretty much self-explanatory.
The Supreme Judicial Courts ruling which found that a grand jury was justified in returning an indictment in Carters case was unanimous, the Associated Press reported. Justice Robert Cordy wrote:
We conclude that, on the evidence presented to the grand jury, the verbal conduct at issue was sufficient and, because a conviction of involuntary manslaughter is punishable by imprisonment in State prison and inherently involves the infliction of serious bodily harm, the grand jury properly returned an indictment under the youthful offender statute.

Nice analogy but you did not answer my questions. You analogy fails as there are statutes against advocating murder. The statutes involve one person urging a second person to kill a third. That was not this situation.
Inbred!
spoiled brat
I hope she goes away for a very looooooong time
LOL, wouldn’t dream of it!!!
If you hand someone who is suicidal a loaded gun you can and will be prosecuted.
This pretty well fits into that category.....
Horrible human being. But we do have free speech rights, and if you convict a person for talking, what is next?
This is conspiracy and incitement to homicide, in this case, suicide. This is not the same as yelling to a suicidal person to jump from the ledge, as disgusting as this is, this is like putting the person on the ledge and ordering them to jump.
It will not be hard for the prosecutors to show that the boyfriend was mentally impaired and that she had undue influence on his behavior. Because of that, her ordering him back into the cab of the truck is an action that facilitated his death and she is culpable.
If you don’t think that is a crime, then what would you think of a parent who calls for their toddler to run to them across a road with heavy traffic?
“Why, my child just ran into the road. Sure I called to him to come, but I didn’t force him into the path of oncoming cars. Calling to my child and him crossing the road aren’t crimes, so how can I be held responsible?”
It’s negligence and why she is being charged with manslaughter.
So Charles Manson should not have been convicted of seven murders? After all, he just talked to him followers about it and didn’t actually kill anyone himself.
There is a difference. Manson conspired people to commit murder. people who wanted to live.
This person murdered himself.
I am not excusing the behavior of this woman, but the person who died ,died at his own hands.
It would be a difficult conviction with a lot of scary scenarios if we get prosecuted for speech.
Are Irish girls better at faking sadness and despair?
No, of course that’s not what I meant to imply. What I meant was that her features, the eyes are similar to many Irish people I know. If my comment is still unclear, then I cannot help you.
If there are no laws against this sort of depraved manipulation, there should be. It seems to me that she’s at least an accessory to murder.
If you make a law against this, what is to stop the government from banning guns, as they are a tool used in suicides.
Saying that someone else is responsible for a suicide due to speech, is saying that a gun is responsible for a suicide because a bullet was used.
it takes the responsibility for personal choice away from the person who commits suicide to someone else, be it by speech or a bullet..
A simple question. Did you read the texts that were involved before, during, and after the suicide?
A truly despicable bitch. Give her 10 years.
It does not matter. This person, who was mentally ill, made his own choice. What you are saying is that a suicide is someone else’s fault.
That is the slippery slope to curtail free speech rights and gun confiscation.
Her words did not cause this man to kill himself. He killed himself with his own two hands.
There is a personal responsibility issue here.
I was partly joking and partly wondering if maybe they are. It probably doesn’t hurt to be Irish in front of a Boston-area jury.
She berated the guy to kill himself, wouldn’t let him back out when he lost his nerve. If suicide is illegal in that state, she should be charged as an accessory to murder.
Then we should outlaw guns, because the gun is an accessory to self murder.
A gun is an inanimate object. Criminal law applies to criminal behavior on the part of human beings. Therefore, your argument is nonsensical.
