I hope that there is a “glimmer of hope” that these Nazi bastards in the “Senate” do the jobs we’re paying them to do and not be out there screwing around with the rights of the American people as stated in the Bill of Rights.

Would someone please tel Susan Collins to leave the GOP and join the Democrats? We wouldn’t notice the difference anyway.

Collins, who held a news conference with eight other senators including Democrat Bill Nelson of Florida, said her bill would stop about 2,700 Americans and 106,300 foreign national on surveillance lists from buying guns.

I thought foreigners couldn't legally purchase firearms at all?

The beltway GOP is useless and the Senate GOP is the bottom of the barrel. BOHICA.

I thought the Senate was the Upper House, the “More Deliberative Body?!?!” Yet they are reacting out of emotion (because of elections??)~ Sheesh! They have done practically nothing all session, and yet they have now had how many votes in past week on gun control to limit law-abiding US citizen’s Second Amendment rights because of the Orlando shooting by a radical Islamic terrorist?

I believe 4 votes so far with more planned for tomorrow?!?!

This is lunacy and it is frightening!

Stop and ask yourself, why do we always see these pushes for more gun control after some kind of shooting and subsequent media propaganda fiesta?

I mean, if this legislation is such a great idea, such an improvement on public safety, why were you so obviously sitting on it? Why weren't you pushing for it last week, last month, last year? I'm sure you had it ready, there are no new ideas in any of these kinds of bills that come along.

My theory, born out over and over again, is simply this. These bills are so bad, so infringing on fundamental rights, so obviously socialist and fascist in nature. ... That they do not dare let them see the light of day when people may take the time to actually read and thoughtfully consider them. Hence they only come out when there is a chance of ramming them through on a wave of emotional response. That's why these things crawl out into the light only after a tragedy. Emotions are a poor advisor to public policy. Any law proposed at these times is immediately suspect.

There is no Due Process in getting on the list.

You are not informed that you are on the list.

If you find out that you are on the list, you have no means of getting removed from it short of begging.

So this bill would seriously infringe on the rights guaranteed by one Amendment, while violating another to accomplish this.

Nothing to see here, move along

The GOP dolts are too weak to introduce and pass a terrorist control bill to combat this nonsense. No PRA game at all.

Collins . . . "We believe that if you are too dangerous to fly on an airplane you are too dangerous to buy a gun,"

I believe is you are too stupid to protect the Constitution, you are too stupid to buy a gun. However, the Constitution does not have exceptions for stupidity or for dangerousness. Without due process, neither the dangerous nor the stupid may be denied their God-given individual rights.

If they are going to ignore the Bill of Rights, why stop with the Second Amendment?

Barring blacks from owning guns would take gun violence in America to almost zero and would decrease the homicide rate by 2/3.

I noticed that form 4473 doesn’t ask any questions about pledging allegiance to foreign organizations, associating with groups or members of groups that have been designated as terrorist organizations, associating with enemies of the United States, holding political or religious beliefs that endorse the physical harm of American citizens, etc...

Lying on form 4473 is a felony. Wouldn’t adding these questions to the form make it illegal for terrorists to buy a gun?

There have been several tens of hundreds of “compromise gun control bills.”

Not a single one of them ever affected anything at all.
