More cultural crosswalks coming for Seattle pedestrians

In March, the City of Seattle installed one crosswalk boasting Pan-African colors in the Central District. The city is now creating 10 more for pedestrians throughout the neighborhood.

The first crosswalk was installed at 23rd Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. It is striped with black, green and red — the Pan-African colors. Throughout June, the Seattle Department of Transportation plans to install the new crosswalks, but will first remodel the already painted walkway from March. While the original design had colored lines similar to regular crosswalks, the new ones will have solid colors laterally crossing the street.

The city will continue by installing the crosswalks at Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Alder Street before moving on to others. The existing crosswalks will be torn up over one or two days and replaced with temporary paint. Then the new crosswalks will be installed as weather permits.

My once, conservative birth city has gone full out liberal WHACKO.

Homelessness and vagrancy has run rampant in the city, but they spend tax dollars on this crap.

Nothing a 5 gallon bucket of white paint can’t fix.

More feel-good crap to cover up the real problems . . . for much the same reason Banana Republics are constantly holding Fiestas to keep the sheeple happy and contented.

Until now it had not occurred to the people in those neighborhoods to put graffiti on the street.

It’s sad.

I visited a few years ago, and I feel in love with the place.

But it is as you describe to the letter.

Yep. The liberal mind is twisted beyond belief. They put on shows like this to pretend to have compassion. They’re idiots.

Seattle is also home to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). The HRC is the biggest homo lobbying group in the USA. The HRC and the Obama administration are the ones pushing all the homosexual agenda in our faces.

Look at it this way. Now, you don't have to see the street signs to know you are in a bad neighborhood.

This is a good thing.

All crosswalks surrounding "minority" neighborhoods should be painted in the colors of the minority.

That way, normal people won't accidently wander in and get beat up, mugged, etc.

Excellent idea!

A subtle way of saying, "feral territory ahead".

New design.

So, they won't look like crosswalks and vehicles won't stop.
Brilliant!

Why not just build wall and fences around minority communities? Woops. Wait a minute. Our government is against walls. Never mind

We have a main drag through urban blight where young blacks insist the sidewalk on one side of the street is “blacks only” and the sidewalk on the other side of the street is for anybody. I didn’t know this rule. It was an exciting day.

Well, a few years ago, Dennis Miller, in Santa Barbara, took to task his city's liberals allocating $29K to paint a line through the city that would "indicate" the rising sea level due to AGW.

Ridicule made them back off.

Just like any street named “martin luther king” means to GET AWAY FROM THERE as fast as possible!

Every place in the USA (and probably the world) with an MLK blvd is a hellhole.
