"RIP Great one You were one of a kind and not to be forgotten."
Henry Cooper knocks down Ali: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pN9Qi_yyUbo
Cooper was tough as nails and talented, but bled if you even looked at him funny.
Many of us have reached the point of nausea with all the coverage of ‘the great one’s’ death. He’s being made a hero when he himself said he earned his money by beating people up.
Another muslim.
The leftist media sopped up his anti american marxist rant when he was draft dodging. They turned him into an idol and I firmly believe that that also lead to biased decisions in the ring. I cant count how many fights he won on decisions that should have gone the other way.
His stupid Roper Dope was another fabrication to cover up his lack of preparation for fights. He should have faded out shortly after knocking down the way-past-his-peak Sonny Liston
Its well known that when he joined the Nation of Islam, he held racist views against white people, however, he came to rescind these views later after Elijah Muhammad died. He stated in his autobiography that one of his biggest regrets was turning his back on Malcolm X after he had abandoned the racist NOI and later came to the realisation that racial hate was wrong, no matter who the colour of the one being hated or doing the hating was. So we can either eternally despise him for what he was, or respect him for what he became.
I find it amusing when someone calls anyone from the south during the Jim Crow days a racist.
Black or white, if you were down there during the period of Ali’s youth you were a racist. Racism was not the same thing back then as it is today.
If someone were behaving today the way they did in the ‘40s and ‘50s, they would be stoned in the town square.
I understand plenty of reasons why Ali might have been a racist.
Why are we always surprised when people act appropriately for their culture?
Muhammad Ali Backed Reagan and Many Other Republicans

And Frazier always referred to him as Clay.
There were two sides to that story.
Nation of Islam is for separatism, so was Ali. (and so was Lincoln)
I think that may be the only real solution to the “race problem”
Two groups of people that are easily identifiable and have significantly different AVERAGE IQs will never be able to peacefully coexist together. Given human nature, it is simply an impossibility.
Funny the attempts to rationalize Ali’s statements in the comments under the video - “well everybody was a racist back then” - yeah, that’s fine for Ali and his ilk, but try to get away with it for Jessie Helms or David Duke.....
That is not the most reprehensible comment ever seen here, but it is probably probably in the top 20.
Thanks for the link. It’s a good article; I hope others will take the time to read it.
Ali was definitely a mixed-bag. But at least he was his own man.
But is it true?
No. Not even close.
Ali also said Islam didn’t allow him to commit the kind of violence the military required. That’s why he couldn’t join the army.
Which part is not true?
There is nothing for you to gain by posing questions. On one hand I don’t care if you agree with me or not. And on the other hand there is no argument you could make which would make your statement any less reprehensible than it is.
I suggest you hit the abuse button on yourself and get that post deleted. That would be the honorable thing to do.
So you couldn’t find anything that wasn’t true, yet you find the truth reprehensible.
Believe me I take absolutely no joy in making those statements, and I wish they were not so, but denying reality doesn’t help anybody - it only exacerbates the problem.
Uh, it is not impossible, just unworkable. Any society with a dedicated malcontented underclass is going to be in continuous conflict.
You’re still trying to argue. It’s pointless. Your post is reprehensible.
I suggest you hit the abuse button on yourself and have your post deleted. That would be the honorable thing for you to do.
