"For all intents and purposes, it was suicide."

like MJackson, like Anna Nicole Smith, like so many others....

they basically committed suicide....

you can't stop these people....

so it does not disturb me when they finally go....they got what they wanted, basically....to be numb...

Right, especially when the pills are restricted/too expensive so now you have these people going out and getting black tar heroin from Mexico. I think maybe many aren’t the type I tended to think of when I thought of ‘heroin addict.’ And now we have commercials about how to manage crapping on this stuff.

“Those ads run everywhere, but especially on shows watched by housewives, like the chick movie networks.”

That’s exactly what I thought. Combine that with the supposed increase in white female mortality and suicide, and maybe things are really worse than at least I thought they maybe were.

Don't forget his talent. Any ol’ jack’ass can drug it up, but who can sing like a hyena in heat?

I thought he was pretty good in the 80s, liked Purple Rain, but then kind of stopped listening.

Then a few years ago I saw a couple of videos online of live performances of more recent concerts, 2003-2012, and that's when I became a fan. I didn't know it until he died but this is when he needed the hip replacement and was in pain. During this time he didn't dance, he just surrounded himself with great musicians and played great music. It was this period that I consider his creative peak.

I think you’re right, it’s worse than ever. The plan seems to be pretty clear—drug everybody to the gills so they don’t notice they are unemployed and penniless. This also feeds into the nationwide move to legalize MJ in all 50 states. Again, Soros funds some of this. Add in the psychotropic drugs handed out to any who asks, add in the ritalin and all that given to the boys who run around and act like boys, and we are screwed.

I listened to a psychopharmcoligist speak once about 15 years ago about the effect of meth on human beings. Aside from the obvious physical effects, he said that after only 5 doses over a period of days, the brain is unalterably changed, with about 90% fail rate for all drug therapies thereafter.

I thnk it might have been suicide too. He told the concert goers who were applauding him able to perform (he had been sick and rushed from his plane to a hospital a day before) to “Hold your sympathy for a couple days” or something.

I think he couldn’t do it any more. He was not a partier. He got addicted from trying to mask his pain. It’s easy to do.

I’ve been given morphine in the hospital for brain surgery, and heavy oxys for at home afterwards. I know when to stop taking them. It is that moment when you don’t feel any pain but you are going to go take one because you “might feel pain later. “ BOOM. That is when the drug starts talking. I don’t want that conversation.

After C sections they give you those wonderful shots of what is it, Demerol? But after the first one, the C pain got kind of “familiar” to me and doable. So for baby 3 I only took the one shot. And for baby 4 I refused all pain Med once I was back in the room. They were shocked. I was not being a hero. I wanted to be alert for my precious baby and the pain was really familiar and I knew it would get less every day. So I didn’t need it.

I’m suffering from migraines for which I use triptans (they don’t intoxicate but they do stop migraines). I’ve been taking too many which is bad for the heart etc.

So I am turning to medical marijuana - though as a mom I do not want intoxication. I’m using cbd oil which doesn’t intoxicate at all. It took 2 days and upping the number of drops for it to start working but so far it is really starting to help get me off so many triptans. I don’t know if it is legal where you live though. I did a lot of online research. There are people using it successfully for arthritis.

Not legal but I think the way I would have to get around that is if it was made from imported hemp. However, this might negate the whole effect since it is an entirely different product.

Worth considering giving it a try if I ever make it to Colorado.

Very insightful and I totally agree. I’ve had some severe traumatic injuries in my life and have been given the hardest of hard core opioids for pain. You must keep up the medication levels to combat the pain but there comes a time to tolerate the pain and step away from using the drugs as a crutch. I live in abject pain on a day to day basis from my latest injury, but I don’t use any meds very rarely aspirin or ibuprophin. It would be easy to give in to the monster and be an addict, but I would rather live my own life than be a slave to drugs.

Eddie Van Halen had to get a hip replacement for the same thing.

One more thing that makes this a surprise, is that heavy drug use makes people look older than they are. Prince in his 50s looked 20 years younger at least. Compare Prince at 57 with what Eddie Van Halen looks like now.

Actually, Eddie looks much better today than he did ten years ago.

All the pain killer does is mask a symptom and create a new and much greater problem.

The more pain killers a person takes, the more tolerance a person builds and then must take ever more pills to achieve the same effect, and then all of a sudden the addiction exists.

I’ve never been addicted to opioids, so I can’t really comment on what an addiction to that is like, but I have been addicted to xanax, and that was the worst thing ever.

To Hell with pills.

That’s good to hear.

Yeah alcohol is a harsh drug that many people overlook.

I like to have maybe a couple margaritas per year and that’s it. Those are some yummy drinks and great for birthdays.

It should be noted that Fentanyl is roughly 40 to 50 times more potent than pharmaceutical grade (100% pure) heroin. It is often mixed with street level heroin, an exceptionally dangerous practice.

However, it is difficult to obtain. But what is easy to obtain are cheap knockoffs, called analogs, of Fentanyl. Curent estimates of Fentanyl (and analogs) mortality is quite high.
