Thanks for the link. I saved it.
I wonder why nobody ever made a big deal about the connections between the Hinkley family and the Bush family. Or like even mentioned it.
One of George H W Bush’s many attempts to become President of the United States.
Did the news media blame “right wing extremists”??
The newscast of this to watch is the ABC coverage where they pronounced Jim Brady dead and then undead and Frank Reynolds goes nuclear on the air about being fed bad information.
They control what the Great Unwashed shall hear, and especially since the Nov 1963 coup.
Thank you for posting this. I hope it’s repeated again and again, increasing the chances that more and more readers will come to be more curious about this!
I remember a kid at school celebrating. First time I realized how evil the left can be.
I am still offended that the little mutt that shot Reagan is still alive.

The latest research has shown that Hinkley shot 5 times and missed each time (maybe he did hit Brady though.)
There was another shooter. Reagan nearly died.
I had a union steward come up to me at the time laughing about it.
He was a member of a Teamster affiliate.
He was trash as he was a backstabbing lying SOB always inciting people.
So, the kind of chaos in the USA, the unknown development in the USA scared the USSR which feared for America's possible response and this in turn finally made them to abandon any plans of the military invasion of the Warsaw Pact. Almost immediately after, general Jaruzelski was appointed the chief of the govt and the preparations for the Martial Law to stifle the Solidarity with internal forces began in full swing.
I'm surprised to see that CNN was around back then. I always thought they got started in the late 1980s and had no idea they were around at the time of Reagan's shooting. I just looked it up and learned that CNN has been on the air since 1980. I would definitely be interested to see how they covered the election.
My understanding is that Jaruzelski begged the Soviets to invade and they told him “no”, and from there he decided to implement Martial Law using the threat of Soviet Invasion (which he knew wasn’t coming).
So, Jaruzelski was given the order from the Kremlin to stifle the Solidarity, yet, as you said, he begged Moscow for the invasion as he didn't believe in the loyalty of the Polish forces.
You’re right, that there was a very good chance of invasion in 1980, before Reagan took office. But once Reagan was there, the Soviets basically told the Poles they were on their own.
In the speech Reagan gives before assassination attempt he does make reference to Poland.
