A number of conservative groups started an anti-Target protest in the wake of the chains April 19 statement that transgender customers in its North Carolina stores could use restrooms and fitting rooms of the gender they identify with.
We observed a noticeable fall off in traffic at Target during the last week in April and a meaningful pickup at Walmart during that same time, said Richard Chmiel, chief executive of RS Metrics, which uses satellites to monitor thousands of retail parking lots across the country in order to identify changing business trends.
We suspect the bathroom boycott which was gaining momentum at that time contributed to the shift, Chmiel said.

That sounds great! I don’t have the racial consideration but I too like you shift my shopping hours to avoid crowds.
The racial angle is just a security issue (specific to the current climate of anti-white sentiment among unassimilated minorities); in general I don’t want to be around the whites in my area that wake up in the afternoon either. Growing up in my town, the people stealing your car or using drugs were all white.
when I had a paper route, there were only 2 customers who wouldn’t pay.
one was a poor lady on welfare (when welfare meant a box of surplus grub and $20 walking around money).
Anyway, she paid a dime at a time, and eventually hoped to catch up. (It didn’t matter to me either way, she was honest just poor is all.)
The other non-payer was the big building contractor and town mayor. He used to hide under his bed to avoid opening the door when I was out collecting. Finally, I walked into his contractor office... with all 120 papers filling up my paper bags front and rear over my shoulders... ha... I was quite a sight then... anyway, his secretary tried to give me the buzz=off and I just cordially walked past her attempted door-block... and into the mayor’s office... where he happened to be entertaining a big potential client about a large construction project proposal he wanted to build...... ha ha... so anyway all I had to say was, ‘good afternoon sir, as you know I have tried to collect this $1.75 at your beautiful home but since nobody ever answers the door there, I thought you would appreciate my going out of my way and picking up your overdue paper bill payment here at your beautiful office”.... or something like that. He shoved the money into my paw quicker than you can say “corrupt politican who cheats little paper kids”... ha ha ha
I hear he lost that building contract deal.
Karma, I guess.
...being crooked has nothing so much to do with race as with character, and the one politician we had in our little town just happened to corrupt. That’s a 100% correlation between politicians and corruption. draw what conclusions one may....? smile smile smile
No surprise he went into politics...what a dirtbag. On my route I’d just stop delivering to people who ducked me when I was collecting. If they contacted the paper I’d explain it to my manager and he let me do as I please. I also had an obnoxious friend that would start laying kicks into a door if we knew they were hiding in there...over a $1.25 weekly bill. They’d answer quickly then, but wouldn’t tip; at least I didn’t have to pay for them out of my own pocket.
100% of those customers (of all of my customers, in fact) were white.
you did very well.
i also had good collections, giving best service does that for any business... and paperboy job then was really independent contractor busines...
i learned more from that paper route than any adult job I ever got ...
and it was also just about the most fun job I ever had, too
wonderful experience!
It is a shame those jobs aren’t around anymore; they really teach kids responsibility. Nowadays we just have vans with suspected illegals drive down the street throwing papers out the windows...
I’m in my mid-40s, and have never been without a job since I was 12. My oldest child is looking for work, and so many jobs available to kids back then are being done by adults now; it’s sad...
Newspaper said too many customers were stiffing the paperboys. That the kids quit. With the adult routes, the system is different. No more trusting the customer to pay at end of month. Instead, no newspaper if not paid in advance. Problem of dishonest customers — solved. But yes, A tremendous loss for kids!! And their growth opportunities.
In my area it seems the only things being delivered (again, by illegals) are free local rags packed with flyers and ads; I don’t see the big papers being delivered anymore.
I guess legal issues with minors arose as well...
