"In many cases, the more glucose a tumor consumes, the worse a patient’s prognosis."

Perhaps this is why cannabis is effective against cancer? The munchies = lowered blood sugar = less food for the cancer.

But hey, our loving govt has tole us not to take what The Creator Gave us because it's evil.

Perhaps this is why a major cause of death in centuries prior to the Twentieth was attributed to a condition referred to as “consumption”.

The problem, as always, has been how rapidly cancer cells ‘adapt’ to environmental changes. Block blood vessel growth and starve them of oxygen - they switch to anaerobic metabolism, and under the low oxygen conditions there are molecular changes that eventually favor a switch to a more aggressive malignant cell type. Block glucose metabolism and they will switch to another fuel type, eventually. Further, it’s always very hard to target anything that doesn’t have the same bad effect on other normal cells in the body.

Not saying this approach isn’t viable. Just that it is only another bullet in the arsenal against cancer, and often it takes many different bullets to eradicate or at least control a malignancy.

fascinating. It makes sense that a rapidly generating cancerous mass would require significantly more energy than a normal group of cells that are multiplying at a normal rate and that the effects of cellular starvation would be more harmful to cells undergoing accelerated division than to normal cells. Interesting that insulin appears to be pro-cancerous in this regards as it would make sense that a chronic hypoglycemia induced by insulin injections would be an impediment to cancerous growth.

I’m doing what I call modified Gerson for cancer, and so far it’s working. I also do hyperbaric chamber therapy and some supplements. I’ve had a hell of a time with docs; I went seven months without a specific diagnosis! My Cancer is extremely rare so now docs want to treat me just to have thier name on my case.
I despise the cancer industry. I pointed out in the beginning the things that just did not make sense and chemo centers hushed me and shuffled me out the door. I’ve been in many chemo centers and they all have “granola” bars, aka candy bars with some oats sprinkled on top, and Ensure. They push them on the chemo patients. They tell the patients to eat and drink whatever they want as long as they are eating and drinking. They push sugar on cancer patients! It’s disgusting.

Dr. Colin Champ (cavemandoctor.com) is a proponent of the ketogenic diet for cancer treatment. He’s at upmc and I’d love to meet with him. I plan on contacting him this summer.

Eat meat, fish & salads, eggs & bacon, cut down on bread, eat a
little real butter; do not eat much sugar, just a little
honey, HFCS is for the birds IF you hate birds.

Cancer patients don’t need to starve to death; but that’s
what a lot of them end up doing on the SAD (Standard
American Diet).

I've yet to see an article about the effects of regular multi-day or intermittent fasting (aka 6-hour or 8-hour diet) on cancer prevention or treatment.

The effect of sugar on cancer is well known. For example, see the book Anti-Cancer.

If you go on a juicing only diet it will slow down Uncle Charlie absolutely

But cure it no

There is no cure yet

You just stop it or excise it for now...

If it’s not stopped or removed it’s either coming or going

It’s the velocity as much as anything

My 89 year old mentally retarded aunt who we care for has a very slow growing mass in breasts

Radical on left 10 years ago...some spots left...no chemo or rad....it’s quite slow growing....less than 5 percent a year...at her age no heroics

i think avastin is used to decrease the blood vessels to the tumor. and sounds like a similar effect of starving the tumor. OF course douchbag Emmanual (one of the obamacare fathers) wants to stop avastin as a treatment because it hasn’t been proven to work. except my girlfriend is alive today because of these trials she received at Penn.
