With as many people roaming the continent as is implied, you’d think that we’d run across some of the remains.

I'm not sure why this implies "many people roaming the continent." Maybe they were mostly visitors. See America B.C. (Here B.C. means Before Columbus) by Barry Fell.

Where’d they get the stone for the stone tools? Isn’t Florida mostly sand, clay and shell? Nearest flint deposits must be hundreds of miles away.

Funny. The neighboring Apache Tribe to the Hopi have a language almost identical to the tribes in Alaska.

Check out the map at this link of the Athabaskan language

The Athabascan speakers moved south from the boreal forest less than one thousand years ago, supposedly.

The first Canadian snowbirds played rough.

I thought that they might have come by way of Alaska. Interesting that they might have come from the Atlantic and only visiting.

The way I understand it, the Navajo (related group) also speak the language and the tribes north actually migrated from the south in relatively recent times.

The Zuni are very, very, very interesting to me. I personally believe they came from Japan originally. Too many linguistic coincidences in my opinion, although I’m certainly not an expert or even a serious amateur on the matter.

Souix exposed bodies on scaffolds, dome tribes buried the bodies, then exhumed the bones and deposited them in mass burial pits. In that culture, hunter gatherer, the population must have been quite small until cultivation of maize, beans and squash.
