IT’S GOT TO BE HARD WORK TO BE THAT STUPID

I wish I could say that I don’t get it, but I do. AND I DON’T LIKE IT.

I don’t like the stupid GAMES being played by the Republicans, telling Trump that they’re not quite there yet in terms of endorsing his candidacy for the leadership of the Republican Party.

Not only is this extremely disrespectful to Trump, which really doesn’t bother me all that much, but, it is otherwise incredibly disrespectful to the people, which bothers me to no end.

Whenever I couldn’t come up with a decision on something, my late Father would simply tell me – DO IT OR GET OFF THE POT, but as you probably know, not quite in those exact words.

Trump is the great deal maker. They have learned about deals from watching him and are just tying to make one with him following his rules.

The GOPe is vile, but they are not stupid.

They are risking a lot, and investing a lot of political capital. They would not do this randomly. They have a bigger plan in mind.

They may not have all the details in place yet, but what they are doing is part of something much bigger.

Somethings up.

Personally, I expect to see Ryan as part of a 3rd party ticket. They will take as much of the GOPe establishment with them as possible. They do not need to win outright. All they need is to siphon off enough electoral votes to throw the election into the House of Representatives.

Side Note: Cruz is redefining the definition of “sore loser”. Either he’s really lost it, or he is involved in this plan as well.

The GOPes and RINOs are exposing themselves. Let them rave on! They seem to forget that they are cutting their own throats and that there are more elections in the future. ;-)

Why this is surprising to anyone is beyond me...

Of course the GOP wants to protect their members, especially the down ticket candidates...

They still think Trump is going to drive people away from voting...

Why anyone expects them to kiss Trumps ring doesn’t understand their priorities...

That’s some sort of epic rant. The best kind.

They just can’t stand to be in the position that they so willingly forced on us for the last 20 years. The Irony is strong now. For once the scum have to hold their noses.

Like the school bully who’s been called out they bluster and threaten but in the end will cave.

Though I’d rather see the Black Plague make a reappearance in DC than have these establishment filth aboard the Trump bus. Perhaps the stress will be too much for Bill Kristol’s heart. One can hope.

Your scheme might have made some sense if Trump hadn't brought Manefort on and run up the vote in all of the states after Wisconsin. That was absolutely brilliant. If the elite aren't stupid, they're either delusional or don't give a damn about the voting fodder that used to give them just enough support to keep hold of the Republican Party.

That pesky HOR might be the foil that stopped their plans. The Founding Fathers were wise to have those who are SUPPOSED to control the purse strings be held accountable to the voters every two years. It does seem like some common sense there plus those massive victories have diminished the chances of any coup happening. At this point, it might be helpful if the Bushes, Ryan, Cruz, Kristol go out on a limb. Might help with the housecleaning.

Although you can't rule out stupid and/or delusional, I'd pick "don't give a damn about the voters" from your list.

Given the intense anger they face from the base, people like Ryan and Romney would not be acting the way they are unless it is part of a bigger overall plan.

So let me get this straight.

The GOP elicits candidates for their presidential nominee and exacts a written promise out of each one of the 17 people who entered the race, that they would not run as a third-party candidate against the GOP nominee if they themselves dropped out or didn't win.

Now the GOP is thinking about running a third-party ticket AGAINST their own nominee to thwart him from winning, which is in direct contradiction to their own demands and against the will of their registered voters?

No wonder record numbers of voters have turned out to support Trump. By supporting Trump, the GOP voters are saying that they are sick and tired of their own party playing these back-stabbing, petty games.

The GOP looks real bad doing this. Worse than they think Trump looks to the electorate.

My gut tells me Trump is going to beat the Lyin' Wicked Witch of the Left in a landslide in November. He's a proven winner, and she is a known loser. And when he does, I hope he rubs it into the faces of these arrogant GOP elites. Just desserts for them.

No they still think they have power

Trump is being polite to them for now. If I were Ryan or Preinus I would be afraid. Very afraid

I’d guess that they need a promise from Trump to take certain things off the table should he become president. They may be afraid that Trump may do things that interfere with their graft.

They’re still clinging to the hope that their “disgust”
with Trump will leave their stink on him & somehow he will
magically just get timid & go away. To me, Ryan’s
endorsement would be a huge MINUS for Trump. The “Gulper”
couldn’t get elected & still can’t. (Referring to Ryan
gulping huge gulps of water during his debate with Biden.)

You would think that is pretty obvious...I guess not...

But hey, they're so used to thinking they are masters of the universe, I guess they really are that clueless...

I will give Ryan a slight break here...

Walk in his shoes for a moment...

Some loudmouth obnoxious blowhard basically takes over your party, crushes your candidates one by one doing so outside the proverbial playbook they have been using for decades...He also inherited John Bohner complete ineptness legacy ..

Everything is upside down and wrong...

Bear in mind we still have separation of powers, the legislative branch and the executive branch are supposed to have equal footing, so it's no surprise Ryan isn't running after Trump to kiss his ring...

Maybe he like to see who and what Trump is like up close and personal, since they will have to work closely together in the future...before kissing his ring..

I'm not surprised he is holding back his cards, the convention is still a long way off so they can better have a meeting of the minds...

I do think Ryan and Trump are very close on major issues...

Ryan runs his own little fiefdom and knows he will have to endorse Trump as the nominee at some point, he's in no rush, he has no mandate to do so...

Remember he is accountable only to his district, but is accountable for the way the House is run

He's not about to hand that over to Trump without some ground rules worked out...first
