Drivers were given a long list of rules Thursday involving MGM Resorts International's game-changing move to charge for parking on the Las Vegas Strip.
Sin City's largest hotel-casino operator has said the changes will go into effect beginning on June 6 at some properties, with all of its facilities falling in line by June 13.

Pay yet more to lose your money. Makes sense, no?
We’ll see how well this works. As a Vegas resident, this move means I will never visit an MGM property again.
Free Parking is what made America Great! I eschew going anywhere where I have to pay to park. Generally too crowded.
To discourage the locals from hitting the all-you-can-eat-buffets?
I’m sure if you stay at the casino parking will remain free.
Maybe they could make the parking meters look like itt-bitty slot machines.
I used to know every inch of the MGM... spent 2 years going there installing technology for their Television City testing studios. I even got to use some of the “secret” rooms they have right off the gaming floor. Those were fun times... except my wife liked to come along alot and would keep tossing money into the slots all day while I was working. I would have to stay up half the night to win it back at the blackjack tables.
Don’t follow leaders, watch the parking meters.
Talk about arrogance. This is why I avoid the Strip. If you have to go down there and don’t feel like driving, use Uber. Cheaper than the pirate ships masquerading as taxis.
“Hotel guests can use their room key, with the charges billed to their room.”
“Maybe they could make the parking meters look like itt-bitty slot machines.”
You have an invention there - be sure to apply for a patent. I would make it so that it’s a real slot machine that would pay off once in a while, but you have to drop a buck or two to park there.
Locals get Free Parking.
We stayed at a hotel in San Antonio for a meeting last month. Were charged $25/day for parking and it wasn’t even valet. We used to go to this hotel a lot for weekend trips and never paid to self-park. Seems like everybody wants a piece of the pie which has shrunk a lot in size during the past few years. Surprised they don’t have a meter on the door to charge you using the bathroom.
Hey, they might offer better odds.
"Woo Hoo! I got 24 hours!"
Its a strip alright— getting stripped of one’s hard earned money. Hate glitzy places anyway-—give me wide open nature with zero riff raff messing it up.
Can’t see how this isn’t anything but a plus for the locals casinos.
