Authorities are investigating after a part-time jail guard accidentally shot himself in the leg as he waited to interview for a janitorial job at a Florida Panhandle elementary school.
The News Herald reports that while 28-year-old Travis Anthony Holland waited in his truck on Friday, he decided to replace a spent round in his Derringer revolver before storing it in a secure compartment of the truck.
A police report says he shot himself in the thigh and was treated at a hospital.
Police initially said the incident didn't warrant criminal charges because law enforcement officers are exempt from a state law barring guns on school grounds. But the Panama City Police Department is still investigating, along with the Bay County Sheriff's Office, which runs the jail.
My older boy took a class at Burger King Academy. No kidding. BK sponsored evening high school classes and my kid needed to get ahead on one class. Most others were older dropouts trying to get a GED.
Probably a North American Arms mini revolver. Neay little hide aways.
How did it go?
Well this is my 5 interview with the county and I guess it went ok except it has been hard for me. I tend to be shy I have no problem with 1 and 1 interview but with a panel it felt as if I’m in front of a firing squad. LOL. I do have another one coming up this Friday but I feel like canceling it because (I know this sound silly) but I keep getting the same clerical supervisor over and over and I feel it has been repetitive. I walked in and we just looked at each other and I’m like “O no! not you again”. I’m like “why bother” since this clerical supervisor already knows what I am going to say. I am thinking of just staying off all Health Departments interviews LOL. I will be shocked if they hire me.
However, I do see a bright side in all this! I did not shoot myself in any part of the body ROFL
