ATF opened the comment period to the proposed changes on the 4473 on April 7 and is accepting comments until June 6, 2016. Link to the Official Document. The proposed ATF 4473 can be found here. I encourage you to review the proposed 4473 and submit comments to help improve the form. I’ll bet. The FAA opened a comment period for a small change in small airplane pilot medical certificate requirements. And has done absolutely nothing in over two years. And plans to do nothing. Congress was going to pass it instead as a law, until the princes and princesses ALPA whined about it. Then, nothing.
They could leave out the question about being white or Hispanic white. That one makes me mad every time I read it.
“Attach two passport photos to application.”
“Include specific gun safe location details for this weapon.”
“Please prick thumb and apply blood spot in this square.”
“Do you own a boat, and do you foresee any future boating accidents? (Please list details of any previous boating accidents in which weapons were lost.)”

Then dump the form.
To feed statistics studies. Also, these forms are theoretically to be used for locating felons through the paperwork. Of course none of this works because the information on the form does not go to a database. It is kept at the gun stores, so the ATF can create ridiculous reasons to shut their doors..
“Hispanic white”. That box is reserved for George Zimmerman. Ignore it and carry on with the rest of the farm.
To use that info to persecute gun owners on a political and melanometric basis..
