Well, well, well .....
EXACTLY!!
People vote for president if they like to go out and have a beer with him or her
Not like the people here who are news junkies
Cruz might be smart but he is not likable
How is more likable Trump or Hillary
Tithing is 10% of your income.
Cruz’s dad preaches that it is 10% of your GROSS income.
Nobody is leaving that big of a tax deduction on the table.
Its between him and the almighty, but he better not continue to claim he is so pious.
What I donate/give to church or various charities is no one’s business. I do not give for tax credit or public adulation.
You do know that some people tithe and/or make charitable donations without expecting TAX CREDIT for them? Right?
Good grief.
You sound like youre living in the make believe world of a teachers lounge - totally devoid of reality.

Listen, sport, it’s Ted’s father telling everyone they must tithe. If Ted is using Rafael for his campaign, it matters. He’s bouncing from one Christian radio program to another.
I don’t have a problem if people don’t tithe. That’s their business. But when you’re telling others they should, consider the plank in your own eye.
That’s between him and God.
Doesn’t matter to me one way or the other.
This is why free republic is swirling down the drain.

Only a fool runs up the governments taxes against oneself.
But I don’t think you’re being honest and you’re just covering for Cruz.
My time is more valuable than money and donating my time shows greater dedication/sacrifice than writing a check.
Another ridiculous anti-Cruz thread posted so Trumpets can spew vile, nasty, uncivil posts full of disinformation and claims based on no factual information. Just another typical day here on what used to be a civil forum.
Please bring back the “pre-Trump” FreeRepublic!!
Who knows? (but you can assume and draw your own conclusions)
At my office, I have 1% donated directly to the local animal rescue. That shows as a charitable deduction. But it doesn’t represent any of the other donations I make - which I prefer to keep anonymous.
That really depends on what you do. And it’s possible that someone that makes several hundreds of thousands per year could do both.
Good points. I’m sure government takes more than Caesar ever took.
Some interpret tithing differently, such as tithing on our increase ... giving G_d what belongs to Him, etc. However, no one needs to know what you’re giving, and if you’re not interested in the tax benefit, no one should know.
No one knows what my family gives, and we like it that way.
Was surprised to see an NR article at all critical of Cruz...but then noticed this article was written on Jan 21, when Jeb was still in the race and Cruz was on friendly terms with Trump.
You don’t feel I am being honest?
You don’t know me, you have no facts to justify your feeling, but yet you feel you can say I am being dishonest?
Interesting, as that says a lot about you.
Cheers.
Don’t ya know that the anointed one isn’t like the rest of us, he doesn’t have to do what he proclaims to be, it just matters that he says he is a christian.
True, that. I only brought up my own situation to make the point about deductions, not out of self promotion. The acts I perform that really count are between me and The Almighty and the recipient, and there have been times the latter did not know.
