"Yesterday" - Adam Rafferty - Beatles Solo Fingerstyle Guitar
You Tube ^ | July 14, 2012 | Beatles arr by Adam Rafferty

Posted on 04/22/2016 8:23:04 PM PDT by P-Marlowe

Here is a relatively simple rendition of Yesterday as arranged and played by Adam Rafferty. Adam's facial expressions while playing this song are pretty annoying and of course I would have preferred to have Sandra Bae or Gabriella Quevedo do a cover of this arrangement, but I guess we can put up with Adam Rafferty's mug once in a while. Very haunting arrangement. I have a link to the tabs below if you want to try this. It appears to be relatively easy - relative as compared to Tommy Emmanuel's version of Guitar Boogie or Classical Gas, for instance. Enjoy.

Here is the tab for this song. It looks relatively easy. Well relative is a relative word. I think most intermediate guitar players can figure it out.

If you want to be on my Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitar Ping List, please freep mail me.

Tabs at post 1.

This one can actually be played by mere human beings, so give it a shot. :-)

One of the most beautiful songs ever written, and played beautifully here.

Bonus: Favorite Beatles song? (mine - And I Love Her)

Very nice. The melody carries you through, and the timing adds emphasis. The timing shows Paul’s influence. This would work with a zither (Zydeco), a harpsicord (J.S. Bach’s well tempered clavier) or full sized classic harp (ala Harpo), not that I’m capable of doing any of that.

Samba Pa Ti...what a great song. My freshman spring at college. First time I was introduced to Latin rhythms. I’d really enjoyed jazz, rock, and psychedelia fusions like BS&T and CTA and fell in love with Santana’s remarkable fusions. Those were great years in music.

Adam Rafferty looks horrible in this vid. What a ghastly mug. Not sure if he’s constipated or needs to get laid.

And all this time I thought Bach's clavier was ill-tempered. ;-)

Thanks for posting,

I just finished replacing the bridge (w ABR1) and pickups (w Seymour Duncan’s) in one of my Les Pauls, wired up now with the Jimmy Page mod, sounds great,

Even though this is nylon sting finger style,I’ll give it a go anyway,

I do a lot of fingerstyle practice on my Les Paul (w/o the amp) because it has the same scaling as an acoustic guitar and doesn't disturb my wife - as much.

Of course in order to do finger picking on a Les Paul you have to use 11's. Any lighter gauge just sounds funky.

I like Roy Clark’s version of Yesterday.

But I also like his Roy Clark - Malaguena
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxDQQDF6j0Y

Right up there with Eddy Arnold. Yes I tend to be traditional Country, Bluegrass more gospel unless it’s Wabash Cannon Ball type songs. I’d like to see more of the older hymnal gospels updated with more modern tempos and adding in some C & W-Bluegrass sounds. I can’t play but married to a play by ear musician who taught himself to play piano at 7 and the guitar in his teens (for 23 years), he had pitch perfect hearing. He finish with a KORG keyboard after his Peavy guitar was stolen, arthritis gets your hands even if you play daily.
