Something bright and sparkling came along.
>> Where we used to see Ted Cruz as a principled conservative...what happened?
Nothing happened. “We” still see Ted that way. Depends on the cohort you have chosen to adopt.
Perhaps we just like Trump better.
Something low down happened in Iowa by the way Ben Carson acted. Shocked me the guy did it, but ends seems to justify means it seems
FR has been taken over by a bunch of delusional progressive populists. They’re all following the bouncing ball.
Kool-aid comes in many flavors.
TDS is running rampant, and emotions are running high on both sides.
I just hope Trump, if he is the nominee, is able to win, and then follows through and does at least most of what he’s running on. I have zero concerns about Cruz doing the right thing.
Took the words right or of my mouth. Soon we will all be friends again. Routing for Cruz to beat Hillary.
I think it’s been his two month anti-trump tirade that’s a complete turn off. If he only ignored trump and spoke issues, he’d be better off. He tried to be the Rubio candidate who was all negative but forgot he dropped out due to the negative hits on trump. The other problem with Cruz is he does very poorly when people vote. He lost all the swing states and is on target to lose the entire east coast but Maine. That’s not good.
“... what happened?”
They believe the MSM.
Oh Cruz’ cult church speaks in tongues And Cruz has been anointed to spread the wealth. HE CANT LOSE.
I started out leaning Cruz, but willing to consider Carson. Carson quickly took himself out of the running, but it took longer for me to abandon Cruz. First, the Goldman stuff came out, and I started backing away. Then, when it came out his family was making over a million a year, but the ‘good Christians’ couldn’t spare a dime to donate to their church, it was time for me to move on.

FR has been my go-to-site for nearly 18 years. I have tried to stay out of the mud slinging from both sides but I do agree that things have gotten out of hand. Unless something dramatic changes I don’t think we have a snowball’s chance in winning in November because one side or the other is going to get their feelings hurt and stay home on election day. It’s a shame.
Someone who could run the government like a business.
Not a career politician.
Divorced from the moneyed interests that have wrecked our nation.
Someone that would make the Republican establishment shake in their boots.
I guess my opinion about Cruz changed when:
- I learned he was born in Canada
- I learned his wife works for Goldman Sachs
- I learned that his Senate campaign was financed by loans from Goldman
- I learned that his record on immigration was muddled
- I learned that he has been in favor of all the recent trade deals.
I think Cruz and Trump are complete weirdos. I don’t get the enthusiasm for either of these stiffs. At best I’ll vote for either with equal nausea against the dem. Just like I always do, never for someone, always against.
Freegards
We have see Ted Cruz exposes himself as a fraud and a completely unprincipled person... that’s what happened
Anyone who has been waiting on another lawyer from one of the “elite” law schools when that’s exactly the sort of people who have been running our country into the ditch for decades is foolish no matter what that lawyer presents them-self as.
I am glad I wasn’t waiting on that thing. Had no idea how awful he was.
