Windows 7 will start but when it goes to Google Chrome, it will freeze up within 5 on any and everything.
On Internet Explorer, it doesn't freeze but graphics don't work properly. Example, go to any site with a moving weather radar and it won't load. Or any site where you have a box to search within the site, you can't type or click in the box. Also, say on yahoo.com homepage, the ads and other junk on the left and right sides don't show up but the headlines do and you can click them and to the sites.

I've run MS Essentials, Avira, Malwarebytes and CC Cleaner and nothing shows a virus. Malwarebytes did it's thing last night but tried it again just now and it froze before completion. Both it and Avira took way longer than normal.
I deleted the latest MS updates from yesterday. Ran the disk clean. And restarted at an earlier date. I've tried looking around within tools, settings and security and can't find anything amiss.
Anyone have any ideas to help?
No, I'm not interested in getting a mac or Linux.
Have you tried Opera?
Get a Linux Mint bootable live DVD. Try it and see if that helps.
If it happens only in Chrome, then disable toolbars and/or reset Chrome. if that doesn’t help, completely remove Chrome and reinstall
Open Chrome.
In the top right, click the Chrome menu .
Click Settings.
At the bottom, click Show advanced settings.
Under the section “Reset settings, click Reset settings.
In the box that appears, click Reset.
What’s an opera? Othello?
Boot into Safe Mode with Networking. Then try it.
I mistakenly downloaded Chrome once on my W7 system. I ended up deleting the main program and then I had to search through my entire drive to anything that even sounded or spelled similar to Chrome. I wouldn’t wish Google’s Chrome on anyone.
BTDT and Safe Mode didn’t help.
Do you have some type of script blocker/ad blocker enabled?
Uninstall Internet Explorer and Chrome. Restart computer, re-install Chrome, install Windows 7 Updates, restart again.
How old is the computer?
You might run a memory check since it is affecting 2 browsers. Memory errors can cause some strange issues.
CGato
Look at windows update history. Did you load a video driver?
Did it ever work correctly in the past?
The “with networking” loads what you need to get to the internet. Is that what you did?
Sounds like something may be blocking scripts. You don’t indicate that you are running a scriptblocker, but you might check your security settings on the browsers to make sure they aren’t blocking scripts that you need.
Thanks. That’s an option.
Can’t get to the computer to try it right now. Not with the ranting ape banging on it.
Trying to tell him again to redo Chrome.
Last night I tried to go through cnet to up graphic drivers but couldn’t get into their search box.
Doubt that is going to be any help with a browser issue.
Agree about google anything. That’s why it’s not on my computer. Hubby must have it on his.
