Uninstall Internet Explorer and Chrome. Restart computer, re-install Chrome, install Windows 7 Updates, restart again.

Aha! He just reinstalled Google Chrome. So far, so good as it’s now running at normal speed. Let’s give it a few minutes to see if it freezes.
