7015 miles from Melbourne to Muscat, 12? 13 hours? I suspect a pulmonary embolism may well be the culprit.
Yeah...quantas never crashed. And Kmart sucks
Longest flight I have ever taken was from LAX to Melbourne, about 15 1/2 hours. After 10 - 12 hours your legs start aching and people had to stand up and march around the cabin to restore the blood flow. A 747-400 is a big plane.
A380 equipment cannot land in many airports due to its immense size.
Did he have the fish?
I thought the embolism doesn’t manifest itself until a day or two after the flight.
Why is this news? Passengers have heart attacks and die on airplanes fairly often. Very sad for the families involved, but not particularly unusual.
G’Bye mate...
Yep, 13h 10 m. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/QFA9
Poor guy...not the mile high club you want to join. But it probably has fewer members than the other more notorious one.
They didn’t give a nationality but mentioned they treated him out in the open where everyone could see. Perhaps worried about a little “muslime revenge” where helping out earns you a death sentence?
Atlanta to Inchon (ROK) - 14 hours.
Korean Air flight and crew were great, even in coach.
aka "Economy Class Syndrome"
It is critical to get up and move around regularly on long flights.
As a teenager I flew 7 hrs. Miami to Caracas, ...on a DC-4. :)
Today, 3-4 hrs. tops.
I can’t imagine 8, 10+ hrs on a plane.
Flew to Denver a few yrs. ago on a smaller jet. The seats were like concrete.
Several on us stood in the aisle like on a city bus for the last 2 hours .
Awful.
In a related Story, Maya Angelou loved flying on the Concorde.
Liberal Black Poets who are friends with the Clintons must make a boat load of Money.
RIP the poor guy on the Quantas Flight.
When it’s your time, it’s your time.
Hope he didn’t have to pay for the Headset.
A lengthy trans-oceanic flight is just a bad place to have a life-threatening medical crisis. Even if there were a doctor on board whose training would be helpful, there’s not a whole lot that can be done other than try to stabilize the person until landing.
