Bono thinks telling jokes will make ISIS stop killing people

Bono has identified a new weapon in the war on terrorism: “Borat.”

The U2 frontman told the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee in Washington, DC, Tuesday that jokes could combat ISIS.

“I think comedy should be deployed,” he said. “I am suggesting that the Senate send in Amy Schumer and Chris Rock and [“Borat” star] Sacha Baron Cohen . . . You speak violence, you speak [terrorists’] language. But you laugh at them . . . and it takes away their power.”

Well.. IMO Bono’s half right. Laugh at the terrorists... but kill them anyway.

The larger point is to use ridicule to make "Radical Islam "unacceptable in the eyes of younger people.

Just like Hollywood has done with "Republican."

1. mockery of the enemy is a proven successful tactic;

2. it's not directed at the actual enemy;

3. some jihadi in Mosul is not going to be swayed by an Amy Schumer clip on Youtube;

4. the target is recruitable Muslims in the West emboldened by the countless examples of cowardly politicians and media too gutless to confront extremism.

Why was Bono called to testify before Congress?

Because Congress loves using our money parading an endless stream of celebrities so they can mingle with the "beautiful people" and feel important.

After all, being in Congress is about having fun, enhancing their wealth and maintaining their high status at the country clubs. It's our duty as lowly subjects to just shut up and look on in awe at their collective greatness.
