‘Still recording?’ she asks, ‘Yes ma’m,' he dutifully replies, showing viewers a cracked iPhone screen.
The camera shows two teens, a boy and a girl, are still here - watching as the only outlet they’ve ever known to a social life disappears.

I’ve skimmed through the comments here, and noticed some FReepers say she was stupid not to sell the phones over the Internet. The same Internet she’s trying to take away from her disobedient disrespectful children.

And the computer should be located in the living room where a parent can control and watch what their child is doing on it.
I see what these things do to my grandson he is mostly now anti social, over weight, lazy, and you can’t believe a word he says. Even though his dad restricts their use, his mom doesn’t. And he lives with his mom right now. This is going to be one messy divorce. But he is old enough to chose which parent he wants to live with. She is a computer gamer addict and a prescription drug addict. Not fit to be a parent. Only reason he remarried her was to make sure he’d get custody of his son, should she die of the late caught Breast Cancer. Well she survived, which is good. Her life style stinks. Not even a HS grad. Now on disability.
In the first place why did she buy them Iphones?
Growing up in another era where all you had were land lines we didn’t feel the need for such methods of communication. And we were limited to the in use the home phone time.
Parents had to know where we were going and when we’d be back and a phone number to call. Unless all we were doing was bike riding or roller skating up and down our block.
Dad or mom controlled the TV. We just turned the channels for them.
I often wonder about that. Almost every parent I know insists that his/her child "needs" a smart-phone.
