Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said there's "potential" for House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) to be drafted as a presidential nominee at a Republican convention because he is the one person who could unify the party.
"I think it's just natural that that speculation would happen because he's one of the great leaders here on Capitol Hill and one of the people who brings both sides, all sides together, I should say," Hatch told reporters Thursday.

He has to keep up the cascade that Cruz can be nominated at the convention so those opposing Trump will continue to for Cruz. As soon as Trump cannot get the delegates officially then Cruz is toast and the RNC will go through the motions of “having” to approve a compromise candidate in Ryan, Romney, Bush, etc.
Hatch is sitting on this one. He has seldom been right about anything. Not to say congress critters aren’t looking at Paul, but Tall Paul is hardly a body to bring the party together, judging by that which has been seen before. Perhaps critters don’t trust Cruz and they will high tail to Ryan if given the chance. How would Cruz feel about that? Enough push back to shake hands with Donald and tell the lot of them to go to Hades? Hatch might be the egg on the faces of the GOPe
This is the Same Hatch who liked Ginsberg for SC, opposed the marriage amendment, opposed the English official language amendment.
Yet the good Mormons vote him in term after term.
Watch the video I posted in 39, Reince unequivocally states the nominee has to be someone currently running and who has won at least eight states.
No.
Nail in the coffin and good riddance GOPe.
#NeverRyan
Well since Trump nor Cruz can win the general they better pick someone who can.
In the video below, Rinse is asked about televising the rules committee!

Ditch the GOPe's princeling, Paul Ryan.
There is an alternative.
Oooh...great find, when!!!
Weasel Rinse trapped by Bill Hemmer on whether or not the Rules Committee meeting will be televised!!!!
Weasel Prius says....”Um....I’ve never been asked that, before. I assume that the press would be allowed”. Bill confirms, “So, you’re saying these meetings will/can be televised then, right?” Weasel: “I’m saying I don’t know for sure, I’ve always assumed they can be.”
As he and other RNC officials have stated those were the rules for 2012 that are in effect UNTIL the new rules are approved at the start of the 2016 convention. Do I trust them? Heck no!
He’ll lose, BIG TIME. But the Uniparty does not care if they win the election or if Hillary wins. Same agenda and same team.
I’m sure the GOP and Priebus would say that “by the general election, those numbers would go up.” Of course, they NEVER use that argument when we are talking about Trump. Well, at least they’ve exposed themselves for what they really are: Scam artists who only care about power and control.
Exactly. What’s amazing is that none of the talking heads or anyone except Rush even questions Trump’s “high negatives” among women. I don’t believe them. You cannot have 65% negatives among women and get as many votes as Trump gets. It might look like it’s possible statistically, but practically it doesn’t work like that.
Hasn’t Orrin announced he won’t run in 2018? People in UT will be so sad. It’s how the Carolinians will feel when Loveable Lindsey finally winds it down, whenever that might be.
I guess nobody has suggested bring back Denny Hastert to run for President???
Like in most states, the Utahans are too uninformed to pick anyone but Orrin.
It comes down to that.
