Hatch: Ryan could be drafted at convention

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said there's "potential" for House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) to be drafted as a presidential nominee at a Republican convention because he is the one person who could unify the party.

"I think it's just natural that that speculation would happen because he's one of the great leaders here on Capitol Hill and one of the people who brings both sides, all sides together, I should say," Hatch told reporters Thursday.

...and the Republican Party could commit suicide.

Would anyone even notice or care about its demise? ;)

Better still: Draft Sen. Orin Hatch (R-UT) for village idiot. He has certainly demonstrated his intellectual gifts often enough.

"Reince specifically said the Ryan and Romney talk is complete nonsense."

Sure it is...........until it isn't.

Rule 40 precludes that.

Have no idea, but I know there is not much enthusiasm outside his small base, and if reports are true what the GOP is planning to do for cruz or anyone else then Clinton has onw as I know quite a few now who said Trump or no one and in this state FL where cruz had an awful time then it is game over.

Rasmussen today: both Cankles and Dinobernie beat Pail Ryan in general election. He’s in the 30s.

March right to the convention. Explain the problem we have with what they’ve done to the party.... Nose to nose.

I am not a member of the Republican Party, but I sure won't vote for Hillary the Felon or Red Bernie.

That being said, I won't vote for Paul Ryan either, because I believe that as President he would give the Democrats in Congress everything they want, up to and including the confiscation of guns.

So, if Ryan is "drafted" as the Republican candidate, I will probably write in Trump. Or stay home, and let the destruction of America continue apace.

The GOPe is playing a classic con game with Cruz and using him as the mark.

From what I’ve heard from the Cruzbanos here on FR as long as you have less than 1237 you are eligible.
So Ryan is eligible with zero delegates.

Check post 39.

1:60 in the video is where Reince laughs off the Ryan possibility.

Pretty much.

The Cruz clinically proportioned ambition is his all consuming largest feature.

Surely, it comes for a price, for all the degradation it will soon cost him, and his flock of geese who hang on his every word.

It’s pretty obvious that his assigned role is nothing more than acting as a Trojan Horse for the establishment.

That will be pretty much the end of the GOP if they try it, which is not an entirely bad thing. Too bad that 4 more years of a radical socialist democrat POTUS will likely mean the end of the country also.

Thus ensuring a Hillary/Bernie win when everyone who voted for a republican candidate in the primaries stays home on election day. BUT not all is lost the GOPe would far rather lose to Hillary than win with Trump or Cruz. The GOPe is far more closely align to the Democrats than to any conservatives.
Just so!

"Win, lose, who gives a damn? As long as we get paid, right?"

Oren speaking of Paul Ryno: "... he's one of the great leaders grifters here on Capitol Hill..."

One member of the GOPe recommends another member of the GOPe. Yawn...
