New York Mayor Bill De Blasio has signed a bill that bans the use of smokeless tobacco products at all ticketed baseball stadiums, sports arenas and recreation areas.
De Blasio signed the bill Wednesday. He said the legislation was important to the health of baseball players and the people of New York.
The City Council approved the legislation last month by a vote of 44-3. It was sponsored by Council Member Corey Johnson.

Apparently, Maria de Blasio is his mother’s maiden name. And he also apparently once called himself Warren de Blasio-Wilhelm.
Until they raise the tax rate too high and create a black market with cigarettes smuggled from lower-tax states.

Biggest problem is how disgusting it can be if one slips on it or sits in it.....if it all goes in the cup and that cup is properly disposed of, then no real problem.
So... presumably the police are planning provide the personnel to search everyone entering every single game?
Or is this yet another of DeBlasio’s silly and unenforceable regulations?
Meanwhile, New Yorkers want to know when he might be expected to devote just a bit of his attention to murder, rape, mugging, and burglary.
