Our internet service was switched from Verizon to Frontier Communications on April 1st. Since then I've had nothing but trouble.
Now the worst has happened. It seems to be blocking access to FreeRepublic. Anyone else in Florida, Texas or Kalifornia experiencing the same?
Yes. I just got off the phone with them, but they claim it has nothing to do with them!
Can the internet have gas?
I’ve shut off the Wifi and posting on my tablet.
Yes I have the same problem. I switched to OPENDNS and it works fine.
google opendns
Possibly, but why did it start to work right after I changed DNS to Open DNS?
Never had a problem all day. I go through either Sprint (Boost Mobile) or CenturyStink (they’re awful where I live but it does get internet)
No techie here, but fwiw I’m on IE latest whatever that is, and I am having no problem. AT&T/Yahoo wireless.
Time Warner had me blocked around 6pm for 15 mins.
When I try to access through Wifi it takes me to a Yahoo search page. But able to read and post with Wifi off. Odd....
Yep me too, and I am pizzed. I can only get it if I turn off my wifi and switch to Verizon cellular. I’m in Florida . Any shenanigans and I am going to another provider.
Okay. I googled OPENDNS—now what? How do I get to free republic? My phone cam access the site but my laptop can’t.
Related?.....
Free Republic DNS entry seems to be gone

You owe me a new tablet! LOL!
I’m accessing FR fine through my Verizon cell phone connection. Wifi connection through one access point is working but another one isn’t. The mysteries of the interwebs. :=)
I was able to access it again when I typed the IP address 209.157.64.200
Could be malware.
