Lionsgate and the A+E network say they wont film TV shows and movies in North Carolina if the state doesnt repeal its new LGBT law.

Good. Don’t let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.
Learn to live without their filthy money.
We may all be having to do that, soon.
Question for NC Freepers: Do these activities improve the quality of life or economic opportunity for the average North Carolinian? They don’t seem to in Virginia.
Guaranteed that this is a bluff. Call them on it and THEY will fold.
Let them go film in Chelsea.
You ask a good question.
With Governor Pat McCrory running for re-election this year, I would say the day after the General Election in November.
The repeal of Charlotte’s transgender ordinance moved quickly in the legislature and got McCrory’s signature within weeks of the primary election won by Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, with the GOPe anointed man of that hour, Rubio way behind.
KEEP IN MIND THAT LAST YEAR THIS SAME NORTH CAROLINA REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR PAT MCCRORY VETOED THE SAME TYPE OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM LEGISLATION VETOED RECENTLY BY GOVERNOR NATHAN DEAL IN GEORGIA.
Now McCrory signs this bill for I suspect a very important personal reason, his own re-election.

One week.
Hell - they're prolly the ones bringing in all the queers and mentally ill anyway.
This is tax money going to subsidize Hollywood. It does NOT build a “movie industry” in NC or anywhere else.
Tell Lions Gate to go film in Brussells!!
Good. Corporate extorition is still extortion. NC would be better off without their perverse presence anyways.
I think the film industry was already leaving NC because tax incentives were recently repealed.
Let. Them. Leave.
eventually or rather the Hollywood production slide continues.
Hollywood had a facilities monopoly on film development and equipment.
not so much any more. The rest of the world does not care and there are plenty of starving actors and actresses to take up the roles.
Eventually it will all be cgi.
who is real who is computer?
BINGO. They’ve had articles and studies that pointed out that there is no net benefit for having Hollywood and more often than not they lose money. They’ve had fraud also with tax credit where a company makes a crappy movie just to get tax credits which they then pocket the money or sell the tax credits to others.
