Sinkhole forms in pond, devours 25 tons of fish
Earth matters ^

The sinkhole downed the entire pond in less than five hours. Even more jarring, the water was stock full of fish, all of which got sucked into the underworld by the insatiable hole, reports people.cn.
The Earth was not only thirsty, but hungry as well.

Keep this in mind next time someone talks about rising sea levels.

Well shoot, 25 pounds is like 15 packages of filleted fish. Why is anyone calling that a farm, not a hobby — and why would it cost $75 grand?

Also, based on an average density close to that of water, this wouldn’t even pack an Olympic size swimming pool. The pool is 660,000 gallons; the fish (if this is tons) is equivalent to 9400 gallons.

Thirsty too... as the quarry pumps drain away the water, they’ll get served up some concentrated raw fish.

Have you seen pix of some of the *fish farms* in third world countries?
Too bad for the farmer's loss ...but nope. Not gonna say it. Talapia on sale this week at Publix.

Hopefully, the water and fish all fell into the
Saknussemm Sea.

Tilapia is $3.35 per pound now, so maybe given that the pond was expected to grow more fish, it made sense.

A muddy pond with thousands of tilapia could be 50,000 pounds of fish. I don’t think China worries too much about the quality of life for fish. Where do you think tilapia comes from?? haha.

One also has to consider that the lady narrating the video has been taught English but it is not her native tongue. Some Chinese translations leave much to be desired and sometimes wholly inaccurate. This video is, after all, from China. ;-)
However, NC does have a point.

Some info on fish farming from China. “While the usual pond fish raising may produce about 4 tons of fish per hectare, the integrated system may produce more than 10 tons per hectare (12.219.5 tons) or 2 to 3.9 times more.”

50,000 pounds of fish in a pond?<
And as luck would have it, his most favored firearms were in the rowboat that was lost!

Terries and Fermies, I tell you!
A favorite edition from my early school days.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_Beneath_the_Ground!
Scrooge is worried about earthquakes damaging his money bin and is determined to find out what causes them. So Scrooge McDuck and his nephews Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie go underground. As they approach a huge underground cavern, one of the nephews is surprised to see so much light underground and exclaims, “The sun room of the mad march hare!” The ducks meet two types of underground beings known as Terries and Fermies that live in enormous caverns underneath the surface of the earth.
