Well, there is a slight difference, that being de jure state ownership versus de facto. So-called crony “capitalism” is really corporatist fascism. The term “state capitalism” actually dates back to the publishing of the Manifesto; Lenin employed it when he had to institute his New Economic Policy to stop the USSR from collapsing.

That is pragmatism. That is a product of the disintegrated mode of thought and is a rejection of principles, logic, and theories. It ends up as a strategy of basing one's actions on a juxtaposition of arbitrary emotions and whims. How does one know that what works today will work tomorrow. It is impossible to plan and act to achieve long term goals with such a strategy.
