Lol, so melodramatic. I think Cruz would have a hard time beating Hillary. I think Trump would have a MUCH HARDER time beating Hillary. If Trump earns the majority of delegates, he wins the nomination, and it’s done, which should make people like you very happy. If no candidate is worthy enough to earn a majority, no one wins, and we might, possibly, get a better candidate than the three that are currently in the running. That’s the way it works. If you don’t like the GOP rules, find a party whose rules you agree with, and support one of their candidates.
BTW, a poll showed around 40% of Republicans would consider voting 3rd party if it’s Trump v Hillary. That doesn’t bode well for the country.

If Trump goes into the convention having received millions of more votes than Cruz, the people are going to expect for him to be nominated by the party members.

If the insiders use the ‘rules’ to give the nomination to someone else, there’s going to be a voter revolt that culminates in a loss of the White House and Congress, as well as a lot of state and local races.

If this transpires, say hello to an America you wouldn’t recognize in your worst nightmares.

I know, from grundle. Saw that last night and grundle who from what was seen of her msg was very displeased as to where the path took her and must have said as much in her post. :-)) Perhaps a lo-info-voter?? IIRC don’t remember her in the time here. So not certain as to the character of the individual. Some persons wish to remain in the dark for reasons of their own.

No one is paying attention to what Larry Nichols has reported about the big GOP meeting in NY yesterday:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHukxdmPO7E

It’s not just about the rallies and the protesters. Go straight to the 5-minute mark if you don’t have time to watch the whole 7 minutes. That’s where Nichols starts talking about the change in the FIRST BALLOT. The delegates will be told to vote their conscience rather than the candidate they are pledged to support. It will not matter how many delegates a candidate supposedly has.

“If Trump goes into the convention having received millions of more votes than Cruz, the people are going to expect for him to be nominated by the party members.”

True, and he probably will be chosen as the nominee.

“If the insiders use the ‘rules’ to give the nomination to someone else, there’s going to be a voter revolt that culminates in a loss of the White House and Congress, as well as a lot of state and local races.”

I agree, but if Trump is the nominee, many Republicans won’t vote for him, and we would probably have the same result. Trump has created a lose/lose situation. Right now I’m for a contested convention. But that would only work if Trump does something that would cause his loyal supporters to give up on him.

“If this transpires, say hello to an America you wouldn’t recognize in your worst nightmares.”

We’ll see, won’t we.

You are wrong about the nightmares and riots.

Here is one way they could manipulate the outcome: They stage an old-fashioned convention fight between two totally unacceptable candidates. Parades. Demonstrations. Cruz is left out, but remember this will be staged. Maybe Jeb and Romney. They get everyone ready to jump off a cliff and then there are faint rumors that Ryan may be reconsidering his decision not to run. The hard-to-get belle of the ball.

Everyone will be relieved that they do not actually have to go out and kill people or be killed.

You write the ending.

“...if Trump is the nominee, many Republicans won’t vote for him...”

True, but I think you’re underestimating the true level of Trump’s support. Using rally attendance as just one indicator, no one on either side has attracted such large numbers of supporters to their campaign events. In fact, the difference in rally attendance numbers between Trump’s and the other candidates’ is embarrassingly large.

Trump has also proven that he outperforms all other candidates in pulling support across voter demographics. No one else comes close to him in that area.

I personally think that Trump will win in a landslide over the Dem in November.

“You are wrong about the nightmares and riots.”

No, I’m not wrong at all, but the rioting won’t happen at the convention. In fact, it won’t be rioting at all, but something more akin to a series of violent stand-offs between the newly empowered horde, and the civil American population.

Trump should insist on the same interrogation of delegates that he gives to his phone workers. They have to fill out three pages and swear that they will not say anything bad about Trump. He demands loyalty of his people and willingly gets it. He’s going to have to do the same thing with his delegates, all over the country.

What GOPe may not realize is that Trump supporters are incredibly loyal.

They won’t riot. Not if they feel they have a compromise candidate they can live with.

Don’t forget, the unwashed masses (and the washed ones) don’t have the same rabid rage at Ryan that we have. They don’t see him as the fox leading the budget sheep in to the slaughter after the sheep were elected to stand firm.

They will go back to baseball.

Yes, Obama 2.0 !

The more I have learned about Cruz, the more I dislike and don't trust him and the MORE I see Obama! The parallels between them are far too similar.

You are a politically uneducated, propaganda swallowing, blinded by bias poster.

Trump's unfavorables have steadily been going down.

Look at KaSICKO's favorables...they are VERY high. WHY ?

BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA WHO HE IS AND DON'T KNOW HIS HISTORY !

A contested convention will kill off the GOP, for good and all, and the not-Trump WILL lose to whichever Dem is put up.

No...YOU write the ending...because IF it is Cruz, he'll lose in a LANDSLIDE the likes of which this nation has NEVER seen before and the GOP will be deader than a door nail!

There haven't been parades, songs, etc. around a convention floor in so many decades, I wonder if you were even out of diapers when that last happened. This isn't a damned movie! This is about our lives and the future of this nation !

Cruz would have an IMPOSSIBLE time beating Hillary.

Trump can do it handily!

Just WHY do you imagine that Trump can't beat Hillary? Because the pundits claim that to be the truth? Because stupid polls say that? It surely isn't because you actually KNOW any REAL reason that you "FEEL" that way! LOL

You are dead wrong !

They didn't like Romney and Ryan was the other 1/2 of that ticket. Biden beat Ryan like a drum. Trump supporters are fiercely loyal and they won't stand for it.

Would the Cruz supporters stand for Ryan ?

Stop believing that those not on FR are "unwashed" and STUPID; many are far more intelligent than many FREEPERS.

“Just WHY do you imagine that Trump can’t beat Hillary?”

I never said he can’t. I said I think it would be hard. I’m basing my judgement on the information I have today. And today he seems to be a foul, childish, sexist, liberal-supporting, say-whatever-he-needs-to-for-votes kinda guy. He seems to know next to nothing of the Constitution. I don’t think these things will change much before the election. If he’s got a “good brain” like he says, why don’t we see it?

I don’t think you were really following the thread of what I was saying. If it had anything to do with Cruz, it was that he is being used, as is Kasich. Enormous slatherings of ego goo are involved to keep them thinking they could be the one.

I vaguely remember Adlai, by the way. I was shaking my rattle at him. I wanted a military man.

You’re not following the gist of what I am saying. You think I WANT these people? Cruz? Ryan? I can’t make sense of your post.

There will not be riots because (1) no one wants martial law and (2) they involve getting new clothes. The only people prepared to fight are people like the Oregon ranchers, and look what happened to them. Talk about throwing the book at someone!

Other people know what I mean when I separate freepers from the 99% of voters who are not. We are like little Einsteins compared with them.
