The Who, Live at Leeds

My personal favorite. I went through a "Who" phase when I was about 12 and I wore that record out!

Saw them live in a Philly a few days ago, great show. They can still rock!

Peter Gabriel - Solsbury Hill

Live.

And that’s Tony Levin from King Crimson (redux) on base.

Strange... I have never been able to appreciate any version of “Love to Love” or “Try Me” other than the ones on the “Lights Out” Album. Besides having some Orchestra The vocals on it seem far superior to me. I have heard that UFO has not always had the same lead singer.

The song “Profession of” by UFO is obviously a master piece worthy of hall of fame status.

Many other great UFO songs too.

UFO is one of most under appreciated greatest bands of all time. Most people don’t even know who they are.

UFO is criminally underrated, at least 70s UFO. Don’t know anything newer than that. But Strangers is where it is at for me with them. I actually like the first 4 or 5 Scorpions albums from the 70s better than UFO. It’s a shame that most folks only know them from later albums, completely different vibe. Of course they made it eventually and UFO never really did.

"Hendrix Band of Gypsies"

'Bout time. 34 posts in.

Along with Allman Brothers Filmore East (oddly, both albums recorded at the SAME venue within a couple of years!) you have the top live albums of all time.

It's impossible to put one above the other.

Holding down a solid second place is the Stones Get Yer YaYas Out from Madison Square Garden recorded in the same era.

I saw Skynyrd in that era in Louisville, and they were phenomenal, really something to see. Now, I had also seen them a couple years earlier where they were falling down drunk on stage, drinking Black Jack from the bottle, and scuffling with each other. But the later show more than made up for it.
