Brian Johnsons hearing loss may not be as bad as initial reports suggested but AC/DC might be moving on without him anyway.
Word of Johnsons reportedly tenuous future comes courtesy of comedian Jim Breuer, a friend of the singer who discussed their latest visit during an episode of his The Metal in Me podcast, which you can stream below. According to Breuer, whose commentary was earlier reported by the Canton Repository, Johnson has essentially been kicked to the curb by group leader Angus Young after fronting AC/DC for 36 years.
UPDATE: Breuer has since posted a series of follow-up comments on Facebook. The first one says, I definitely exaggerate and sometimes I get a little carried away!! And this was one of those times! In the second, posted a few hours later, Breuer says, All Brian said was I feel down & want to finish the job and hope it happens! The rest was ME GOING OFF. Then, in a video, Breuer adds, Im not quoting Brian Johnson. Its me venting. He didnt say a lot of those things.

It could be argued it was not AC/CD without Bon Scott.
But, I like Johnson too, and he would be a hard act to follow.
Brian Johnson pales in comparison to Bon Scott. Go to youtube to hear Scott sign songs we only associate with Johnson.... much better.
Anybody have a comparison with the same songs?
WTF? TNT, Highway to Hell, High Voltage are “not AC/DC”?!?!?
And Brian would probably be the first one to tell you that.
The guy is 68! Angus is 60.
Fraternity was one of the more interesting of Scott’s pre-AC/DC bands, I thought.
BTW, the Valentines also covered “Sookie Sookie”, originally IIRC by Don Covay but probably best known for Steppenwolf’s version.
Just like when Def Leppard's drummer lost his arm. Oh, wait...
There was practice time in that case. THis is right before. Theres millions at stake. If he said yes, and then mid tour cancelled that is a disaster. its business you cannot risk that.

My guess is they could replace Johnson with Jimmy Barnes, who is another Aussie of Scottish heritage who has a similar vocal range.
Also, Rick Allen was 21 when that happened to him. Driving a Corvette in England of all things.
BTW Jimmy Barnes replaced Scott in Fraternity when Bon joined AC/DC. So there’s another connection.
You forgot to add Confederate VS Union Feud here on FR.
The boys need to hang it up — love them to death, but they aren’t the same band without Brian and Malcolm.
Time to Ride on.
If you've been working with someone for 30+ years, you don't just dump his baggage in his driveway and wish him luck.
I just read Allen had two years to recover and adapt.
I would argue that Def Leppard was still climbing the ladder when the accident occurred - it would have been expected to replace the drummer immediately. Brian Johnson has been with AC/DC for decades - it’s not the same band if you replace him with some yob you find on YouTube.
There are repurcussions if a venue books the act, and considering the press coverage, they knowingly enter contract with the possiblity the show could be cancelled. it costs millions and they would lose. In real life I know a famous and I mean legendary tour manager. Talk to him everyday. He was the with the most baddass live group of all time. He wrote the book on it. Im also semi pro musician myself. Its absolutley amazing how fans dont give a damn for the guys health or understand all that goes into it. THe people behind the scenes need a job and this clown would shut the entire thing down. In this case what your not understanding is the dummy made comments to press and media. That would be used like crazy when the venues sued the band. Its not an “unforeseen circumstance” any more. It would be negligent for them to do it with him.
