I have been on Free Republic for almost 15 years and almost never post anything. Love to lurk and post occasional response. In mid-February I changed my preference for President from Cruz to Trump. I've seen many others who have made a similar change in the past month.
I'm curious to learn those who have changed from Trump to another candidate, and why. I hope I have posted this correctly. If not, I apologize beforehand.
Impeachment doesn’t have the sting it used to have. Hell statutory rape doesn’t even “rise to the level” of impeachment.
You mean like Roberts?
Do you honestly think a gope led house would be any different?
I have always been a Cruz supporter because of his dedication to the constitution. I still am. I briefly toyed with the idea of voting Trump, but after my own research into his background, decided that he has no core values or principles to serve him when/if he is elected. I truly believe we will get conservative people on the courts if Cruz is president. I shudder over the prospects of Trump’s choices. That alone is reason enough for me to continue to support Cruz. And I am convinced that Trump will lose to Clinton in the general.
“Issues” lets see here, where did that get us in the past three decades?
I have an old saying, don’t keep making the same mistakes over and over again and expecting a different results
I am sick and tired of being exploited for issues
Look, during G W Bush, we had the house, senate and presidency and we did not get abortion illegal, 2A properly protected, government downsized, EPA gutted, welfare downsized, Medicare redone, corruption eliminated, private property protected, we get the opposite. I am tired of being used as a sucker by the ruling elites
Donald Trump is my middle finger to these cockroaches
You want to keep voting for them because of the “issues” the same FREAKEN ISSUES THESE A HOLES CREATED OVER THE PAST 40 YEARS, go ahead and keep voting for more of the same. Go to the voting booth like a good little robot and vote for the dog turd because it is better then the cat turd on the other side. I am done with that
Trump or bust
You probably don’t even realize that your post #237 was another one.
i can’t find anyone who said yes. Did anyone make a switch from Trump?
I finally found someone who lived through the GOPe funding of those “you’re a racist” ads against McDaniel!
This was my definitive turning point against Cruz. On top of everything else, i found out he was part of the Senate cabal who sent $$ for those ads. The proverbial lightbulb went off.
In case you haven’t seen this. The MS Treatment part starts after the pic with cruz and mcConnell.

And here’s where 2 of the MS GOPe operatives who participated in stealing that 2014 MS primary runoff from Chris McDaniel are talking about how it needs to be done to Trump.

The discussion about how to “decapitate” Trump starts at 23:00 min.
GUESTS:
1. Stuart Stevens, Romneys MS goon in 2012 (refers to what they did to Chris McDaniel in MS as the Mississippi Treatment)
2. Randy Barbour, Haley Barbours son
A week ago when the Establishment GOPe landed 70+ private jets at Sea Island, Ga resort for their panicky cabal meeting, they decided to hire Soros’ thugs to start the BLM/Mississippi tactics against Trump.
Jeb Bush was at that weekend meeting, and then a few days later, right before the last debate, he coincidentally met with Cruz, Kasich, and Rubio to give them their plans and talking points.
And here we sit, with $oros/Clinton/Bernie goons — at the reque$t of the GOPe Elite — trying to “decapitate” Trump by sending terrorist Bill Ayers and his ilk to try to marginalize Trump with the BLM group.
Yes you and MoveOn.org Teddy hand in hand
Speak for yourself.
I went from Cruz to Trump after I found out about Glenn Beck here.
Obama had a Republican Congress.
Doesn’t seem to have prevented him from doing what he wanted. I imagine with a mandate, Congress will get in line.
Elections have consequences, as Obama likes to say. May he eat his words.
Mine too. I'm going to support whoever they nominate. I'm not sure who I'll cast my vote for tomorrow, it's basically a coin toss. I'd be fine with any of them.
I like Trump well enough to vote for him, but I'm troubled by what I see as a lack of substance. In order for me to (politically) embrace Trump... well, I'd need a lot more convincing.
But as I said, I'll support the nominee no matter which one is still left standing after this circular firing squad runs out of ammo.
I asked (posted) the question sincerely. There was one person who responded that made the switch from Trump to Cruz. Many, many, it appears, made the same course correction I did -- from Cruz to Trump. I'm all in for Trump at this point ...and obviously, I'm not alone.
I must admit there are times I enjoy his big fat mouth. But I never trusted the man. He is a con artist.

DISLIKED, DISTRUSTED Alumni, roommates, law clerks, former staffers in the George W. Bush campaign and White House (and the president himself), members of Congress and others who have known Cruz â lots and lots of people â consider him socially awkward, nasty, dishonesty httpest, a blatant apple-polisher and all-around creepy guy. You can write off a few of these critics as jealous of his success, or liberal antagonists, but all of them? There is something badly amiss here. Cruz, who so obviously lacks emotional intelligence, cannot recognize it, but those closest to him surely must see that something is awry...
DOES NOT SHOW UP FOR JOB HE WAS ELECTED TO DO Ted Cruz the senator: Heard but not seen The Texas Republican seriously lags most of his colleagues in attending hearings and casting votes. Ted Cruz came to Washington two-and-a-half years ago pledging to be the anti-senator. But he's been more like the no-show senator.
The Texas Republican seriously lags most of his colleagues in attending hearings and casting votes in what has been a Senate career long on rhetoric and short on Senate business. He's skipped the vast majority of Armed Services Committee hearings, is below-average in attendance on his other major committees and ranks 97th during the first three months of this year in showing up for roll call votes on the Senate floor. ... -Read more: Ted Cruz the senator: Heard but not seen

His father speaks in 'tongues'..Person who spoke at his church stated homos should be killed
And he, as well as Rubio are weak on immigration and stopping the muslim invasion.
Always a Cruz supporter, but went “Never Trump” status last July, when he sided with Nicki Haley and stated that the Confederate Battle Flag should only be in a museum.
Glad you are voting no matter the candidate. Best to you.
A bit late in reply. But check out his interview with Maureen Dowd “Will Trump be Dumped?” NYT 3/20. He clearly states that he’s learned Hillary is behind the rally agitators. Sooner or later it all comes out in the wash.
