At a media availability in Chicago, GOP Presidential candidate Ted Cruz blamed Donald Trump for the violence and protests that occurred earlier in the day at a Donald Trump rally at the University of Illinois-Chicago. The rally had to be cancelled due to safety concerns.

Bill Ayers was there, so now we can say that Ted stands with the Weather Underground as well as the black lives matters nuts
“Cruz entirely blamed Trump for tonight”
Either you are lying or you did not listen to his comments, because he said specifically that first and foremost individuals are responsible for their own actions. This applies to the BLM idiots, and it applies to patriotic Trump supporters who lose their temper and cross the line legally. I saw several who did so. Some Trump supporters may end up with a felony assault conviction and lose their right to vote. Is that a smart move?
I disagree with Cruz because what he said was unbalanced and unfair to Trump. It was not entirely untrue but it sounded too much like the left wing media narrative about Trump when it comes to Mexicans, illegal immigrants, Muslims, etc. Also, Trump’s free speech and his supporters’ free speech were violated. And his supporters have the right to defend themselves from violent nuts.
But try to stay objective. No need to exaggerate.
Obamas BFF the Terrorist Bill Ayers was THERE???!!!
Funny thing that...
he seems to be as Constitutionally sharp as the current illegal occupant of the White House.
One more of those accumulation “coincidences.
Nice spin but you didn’t address the fact of the matter.
It is not the Legal authority of any or All senators to enact law.
You blame a Senator for no wall. That’s your ignorance not spin!
Yeah. Have worked in the real world for 40 years. I don’t assume to do the job of the C.E.O. if I wasn’t hired to. I an assuming given you gift of grandure you have repeatedly. Most likely perform volunteer brain surgery on your spare time.
Stop. You’re not impressing anyone unless yougave a mirror.
this is why I can’t support Cruz even if he win nomination
Cruz not front runner. The moment he is, they will be
Very disappointing.
#148 Then step up to the plate Mr. Universe. Not to often a know it all, done it all like you comes along. Quit your bitching tough guy. Go out and show us all how to get it done.
I’ll eagery await your declaration for public office./s
“Cruz supported the thugs.”
If criticizing the protestors and Trump is the same as supporting thugs, then I guess you are right.
I do not agree with Cruz’s response, but it is a far cry from supporting thugs to me.
Trump was responding TO violence, he was not initiating it. And yes, I listened to the entire thing and it was clear that poor little Ted was irritated that his 60 min town hall with Hannity got overshadowed by an unruly mob, so what does he do? He blames it the victims, he couldn’t have sounded more Obamaesque if he had actually tried to.
I have listened to nearly every Trump rally & Trump is always shouting, ‘don’t hurt them’, ‘just get them out’ but I guess that doesn’t matter, before every rally the crowd is given instructions on how to react to these protesters with non-violence, but I guess you don’t care about that do you.
Ted Cruz is the worst kind of politico ... he is a religious extremist to the core and if anybody thinks he has a chance in the general election, you will be very disappointed. Do some research on his background, his father, etc.. And you can bet that the Democrats will make that front and center. America would never elect him.
My wife and I are Christians, but are really turned off by a politician who wears the Bible around his neck like a prop. He reminds us of all the do-gooders who tell you how to live your life, then get busted for some perverse action.
Has anybody noticed that he doesn’t speak like you, he preaches, like he is delivering a sermon. We have a peace with our God, we don’t need a Ted Cruz to guide us. We need a president to put this country back on the right track, while realizing that yes, it will take some compromising.
I’ll be the first to say Trump is no Reagan, but Trump’s example of Reagan using the bully pulpit to get support from the people and working with Tip O’Neil is spot on.
Cruz’s style and over the top proposals are not based in reality. If he were to somehow be elected, he would be in for a shock his first month in Washington because they will run rings around him; he would be lame duck by his second month.
We live in Florida, so Rubio is not even a choice for us; we know him too well.
We are standing and voting for Donald Trump !!
Agree 100%.
To me, the thing that is so weird about this is that he could have turned this into an opportunity for him. Since he is supposed to be a constitutional expert...he could have talked about Trump’s 1st amendment rights, property rights (since Trump rented the hall), etc. He could have defended Trump and in that way actually showed some grit. Instead, he sells out and proves to all he is a RINO. I just can’t believe he did this. This stinks like some sort of set up.
Cruz did NOT blame Donald Trump.
Trump certainly has the right to have his rally unencumbered. Equally, the protesters have every right to show up and protest just about as loudly and obnoxiously as they like — as long as it’s peaceful and they don’t try to disrupt.
Now, I will say that I think Trump selected a place for the event that was probably unwise. Another location might have reduced this problem. Having it on the college campus made it way too easy for the protesters to do what they do.
A lot of violence seems to follow Trump. He has personally threatened demonstrators and asked his supporters to punch them out. His campaign manager attacked a reporter simply for asking a question. His supporters have violently attacked minority protesters. But somehow, that has nothing to do with him.
So you can say that something about his campaign is fostering such an environment.
These people are just pissing their panties. They don’t care about anything. Freakin gutless cowards hiding behind their principles that any BLMr on the street would slap right out of them in two seconds. Freakin worms.
“Cruz was an apologist for communist rioters tonight.”
You are not doing Trump any favors with these ridiculous comparisons. Cruz made it clear that individuals are responsible for their own actions. That is a conservative ideal: personal responsibility. He did NOT justify their behavior at all.
I disagree with the Cruz response because it is unbalanced. But some of these criticisms are really stupid.
The protestors will help Trump. He offends all the right people. But the anti-Cruz rhetoric around here sounds about the same as the comments of the idiotic protestors.
The only ones I see who are actually being honest and fair are Hannity and Laura Ingram.
They are wise to do so. I’m done with Rush. I quit Levin several months ago.
It bugged me to quit listening to Rush...but the more I think about it...I realize what a manipulator he is. Shame on him.
“Cruz would never win a vote in the Senate for SC.”
He would never get the leftwing vote, but he might get the Republican vote. Even the GOPe such as McCain, McConnell, etc. might be okay with his constitutional expertise, and they might vote for him just to get him out of the Senate. GOPe does not like Cruz, but they still might vote for him as a Supreme Court nominee.
