A fierce debate has broken out among Donald Trumps family, friends and campaign advisers over how to respond to the Republican establishments last-ditch effort to deny him the presidential nomination.
Trumps confidants are split over how to handle the sudden onslaught, with some saying he should become more presidential.
But according to a high-ranking member of Trumps inner circle, Trump is ignoring this advice and listening to his own inner Donald.
The debate broke out after Mitt Romney viciously attacked Trump as a phony and fraud during a speech Romney delivered at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City earlier this month.
Heated disagreement inside the campaign intensified when the race began to tighten and a group of mega-rich donors started pouring millions of dollars into anti-Trump TV commercials in Florida, which holds a do-or-die primary on March 15.
Members of this establishmenta good old boy network of donors, elected officials, local and state party officials, pollsters, advisers, and conservative pooh-bahsare desperate to prevent Trump from winning the 1,237 delegates needed to claim the GOP nomination.
They want to throw the nomination onto the floor of a contested convention in July, where they can pick a candidate more acceptable to them.
Some of Trumps advisers have urged him to stop acting like an Alpha dog, drop the narcissistic me-me-me, and start talking about substance and policy.
Others are urging him to reach into his pockets and invest millions of his own money in TV commercials to answer the establishments negative ads.
Donald Trump makes a point.
But according to the source, Trump thinks he knows better.
He intends to continue with the strategy that has worked for him up to now, says the source. Hes going to rely on Twitter, Facebook and large campaign rallies, and he has no intention of pouring many millions into TV commercials.
As for becoming more presidential, this source continued, let me quote Donald and youll get the gist. He says, and I quote, I dont want to be a jerk. I have to do what I have to do. If people attack me, Im going to attack them even harder and theyll live to regret it.
That is you’re privilege. I have no problem with that, and I am not telling you who to vote for. :)
And Ed Klein would know this, how?
Disinformation.
Remember, lots of Bushbots used to come here back in the day. LOTS of them.
I watched some of Greta’s interview with Melania, but missed most of it. I have to see if I can find it.
They surely are......
I think he previously had a Mexican make-up girl and she was secretly sabotaging him???
If never expect him to watch his mouth, and but a muzzle on his unbridled petulance, vulgarity, nastiness, egoism, narcissism, rudeness, disrespect and tousle making.
Unfortunately you seem to be used to wussies in office. I am sure Trump scares the Hell out of metrosexuals that have never had any discipline in their sheltered lives, but they need to grow up, put away the video games, and get out of the basement.
I tweeted Melania and told her to slap the crap out of him. My whole family voted for him, but even my mother who is rabid for him, thinks he needs to grow up and act PRESIDENTIAL. Quit wallowing in the mud with Little Marco.
I posted on his Facebook several times to “grow up” and stop talking about his stupid company and his stupid hotels, and talk about us - about America. I am not happy with him, either.
I agree. It can be a mix of thoughtful and measured policy statements in venues where that is appropriate and bombast or “dumbing down” at rallies but he is going to have to start working more policy in one way or the other.
I don’t think he should “become more Presidential” but I don’t like to see him dragged into the alley fights in debates. And I really don’t like watching that pissant Cruz saying, “Breathe, you can do it”.
That’s where I want Trump to go all alpha.
And he's quite capable of doing it.
He can’t change his act because that’s all he’s got. For good or bad the Donald is who he is and has been that way a long time. I’m sure his supporters would not want him to change either.
I don’t mind of he hits back when attacked, that isn’t being unpresidential, but the lack of substantive answers is a big deal.

Never in modern history has a presidential candidate been attacked from almost every side this viciously
Now ain’t the time to go wobbly
He’s fighting FOX
GOPe
90% of punditry and GOP regulars
And two of his opponents
And usually the moderators in debates who want to be the one who shot Liberty Valance
He has to fight hard
He needs to run ads too
These effing debates are just gladiator matches to take him out
Ted Cruz love his Bible all you guys want
Ain’t the hombre Donald Trump is
He is doing it, IMHO. If he can’t get his hubris under better control then he probably doesn’t deserve to win the nomination.
Cue up the Sinatra tune, “I DID IT MY WAY”.
I wouldn’t put 41 in that list, he didn’t really have any control over getting sick and throwing up
Well, it’s his own fault.
Jnana mudra.
