Using a series of laser beams, a pair of German scientists successfully teleported classical information without the transfer or matter or energy.
Researchers have previously demonstrated local teleportation within the world of quantum particles. But the latest experiment successfully translates the phenomenon for classical physics.
"Elementary particles such as electrons and light particles exist per se in a spatially delocalized state," Alexander Szameit, a professor at the University of Jena, explained in a press release.
In other words, these particles can be in two places at the same time.
"Within such a system spread across multiple locations, it is possible to transmit information from one location to another without any loss of time," Szameit.

Can this teleport all the Muslim invaders home?
“Using a series of laser beams”.... Which are energy!!!
If they are not “poisoned”, they will certainly be pissed.
When you posted this it reminded me of the movie; The Fly.
Or not.
That’s not teleportation. For teleportation see Star Trek, not real life.
Check for flies in the chamber !
I’ve always said, “You can telekinesis,
but you can’t tell him much.”
Instantaneous transfer of comms and data to distances beyond light-years enabling space exploration in REAL time would be cool.
Are you sure they are poisoned?
Ha ha...made you look.
yess yes yes. the main reason I hope to hold on awhile is to watch all these scientific and technical discoveries, inventions!
“Researchers used polarization to encode information within a laser beam, enabling the teleportation of information instantly and in its entirety without loss of time.”
Actual real time long range control of drones.
Immediate early warning.
The problem is you have to get your receiver out there before it can receive, so you’re back to space travel and regular speeds again.
I’m perpetually impressed at what has been accomplished scientifically in my lifetime. When I was in grade school, Mars had ‘canals,’ the fact that continents looked like they used to fit together was just a coincidence, and there was no such thing as a heart transplant.
Yes it’s really amazing and_ it’s just beginning too! Try to hang around awhile- it’s gonna be a spectacular science show
the next problem... not a real obstacle... for now, we need rover probes sent to available (in this solar system) orbs, planets and moons... that develop the technology for real time signaling, command and control, and data flow... so we can operate robotic equipment remotely and instantly...
What we learn about where we are, will tell us much about where we are going and how to get there.
a half light speed probe, sent to the closest star and navigable in real time by local controls, could get us collecting ‘right now’ data from another system, within 8 years or so... which is within our lifetime.
and what we learn en route might out pace what we sent originally, so that when the probe arrives in a proximal system... we already have found a way to get matter from point a to b, in ways not yet developed by man.
However I believe that the military would lock it away and instead use it to do NO TIME DELAY drone controls and real time solar system warfare by robotics... all around the earth and within the solar system long before then.
My guess is that DARPA has multiple advanced white papers in process and archived already.
Come on now, how many people will understand that?
Being in more than one place simultaneously is nothing new — Santa has been doing it since the Middle Ages.
Run, run Rudolph.
