The enemy has gotten his hold in Freeper land. Let's cast him out.
I am not sold out on either Donald T. nor Ted C. They both have their great strength and their great weaknesses. I think I understand both camps pretty well though.
The problem is that both camps seem to be acting pretty nasty towards each other. I think this comes out of insecurity. If someone really in their heart believes that their candidate is everything that they could ever hope for they come from a position of strength. With a position of strength there isn't a need to cut the other guy down. From a position of strength one only needs to do constant, consistent and thorough educating of those who are not informed. The truth can and will if used skillfully persuade the hardened opponent. Those of us who are freepers are almost always of those who seek and value truth so therefore are certainly persuadable. I really believe that we resort to nastiness and cuts because we are not truly persuaded in ourselves and are of the disposition to think that the louder we are, the meaner, the more cutting the more we are trying to convince our self that our position is the correct one as well as our opponent.
Let's start being utterly honest as to why we support our candidate even including his weaknesses. This way the truth will get out there and maybe it will even ultimately affect the candidates, changing their hearts and positions as the truth filters through to them.
All in all lets all forgive each other for all of our bad behavior and start acting like mature, loving people. Because an election is happening shouldn't change our character and cause us to become hate filled towards those we have always respected. Let's keep our good natures, speak the truth in love and let the truth have it's perfect work.
Don't kid yourself - the operatives of those groups are on the boards.
Totally believe that. Let’s foil them and show them that we are much bigger than they are!
Sounds good to me. I’m a Cruz supporter, but at the end of the day, the winner of the nomination is significantly less important to me than keeping Hillary (or Bernie) out of the White House.
Trump has the added advantage of making every GOPe'er look like an assclown puppetmaster ,, and we refuse to be their puppets anymore, there ain't no strings on me.
Well said. There have been a couple of posts recently trying to get the people here to stop insulting each other, I’m hoping they get some attention and the childish ridicule and put downs start to fade away. It’s bad enough some of our favorite candidates sound like 4th graders arguing over a sandlot baseball game...
I’m almost firmly decided on Trump, but I always liked Cruz too. As I stated in another post just a few minutes ago, I have to be suspicious though, since Cruz still does have to get his money from the same donor class as everyone else, and therefore has to answer to them. And with his recent trend of insisting we must stop Trump, I’m wondering if he is starting to lean in a direction I won’t like. That’s what Romney is saying...
I agree though, if we disagree on who might be the best candidate, let’s do it with civility...
For the record, you will not find anywhere I have ever indulged in any of the name calling and ridicule, I don’t even use most of the pet nicknames for the various candidates, even Hillary...That’s right, I’ve never called her Shrillary or anyting else, I think I did use the term Pantsuit Patty once though...
Let’s just be civil folks...I see enough ridicule and name calling everywhere else I look.
The enemies are Hillary and fringe lunatic liberals.
The establishment is not having a very good night.
Well said. I have no hostility toward anyone on FreeRepublic over any of the political candidates they support.
The gopE owns this election. Their man will get in and it won’t be Cruz or Trump. Plus they know that if Cruz and Trump aren’t the nominee then voters will stay home and Hillary will win.
So, there’s really no sense in fighting about this. I got a feeling we’re all going to be disappointed in the end. That’s the way it’s been since 1988.
Come to think of it, happened in the swamps in the The Patriot ... no?
All I need to suddenly duck out of FR. Please keep the posts coming!
Yep, I don't recall seeing you in any of the melees. :)
Bump. Can’t wait for the astroturfers to leave so Far goes back to being civil.
I have my problems with Trump, I have my problems with Cruz.
Neither of these men is perfect or ideal.
I am fully prepared to vote for Trump or Cruz in the general.
Amen. We must remember who and what are the real enemy and focus beyond individual interest. We’re losing our country to immoral forces that have the Democrat and Republican parties in a vise grip. This *is* about life or death; if we allow Clinton, Sanders, or any latecomer candidate to win the presidency, it’s death. It’s only marginally less worse if we end up with Rubio, Kasich, Romney, Ryan, or other handpicked GOPe stooge through a contested convention.
I believe it did. :)
What you said.
I think one thing that has been overlooked is that there is a fundamental difference between Trump and Cruz supporters on the one hand, and supporters of everyone else: we (Trump and Cruz supporters) both feel that our country is in dire peril, and only a drastic change can save it. A small tax cut here, a small reduction in the growth of government there, accepting bad judicial decisions as “settled law”, won’t cut it.
We both agree that we have to blow sh!t up - we are just debating whether to use U-235 or Pu-239.
Wow, can we get you to fight for the other team?
