I am not sold out on either Donald T. nor Ted C. They both have their great strength and their great weaknesses. I think I understand both camps pretty well though.
The problem is that both camps seem to be acting pretty nasty towards each other. I think this comes out of insecurity. If someone really in their heart believes that their candidate is everything that they could ever hope for they come from a position of strength. With a position of strength there isn't a need to cut the other guy down. From a position of strength one only needs to do constant, consistent and thorough educating of those who are not informed. The truth can and will if used skillfully persuade the hardened opponent. Those of us who are freepers are almost always of those who seek and value truth so therefore are certainly persuadable. I really believe that we resort to nastiness and cuts because we are not truly persuaded in ourselves and are of the disposition to think that the louder we are, the meaner, the more cutting the more we are trying to convince our self that our position is the correct one as well as our opponent.
Let's start being utterly honest as to why we support our candidate even including his weaknesses. This way the truth will get out there and maybe it will even ultimately affect the candidates, changing their hearts and positions as the truth filters through to them.
All in all lets all forgive each other for all of our bad behavior and start acting like mature, loving people. Because an election is happening shouldn't change our character and cause us to become hate filled towards those we have always respected. Let's keep our good natures, speak the truth in love and let the truth have it's perfect work.
I like Trump or Cruz, whoever has a chance of trouncing Hillary. I’ll vote for either one of them if they get in.
If that happens, this time it will not be disappointment but massive disobedience, civil and otherwise.
I agree. We don’t all have to think the same way, nor should we feel obligated to humiliate someone else’s choice. There is room for more than one point of view. I do not have the entirety of my value as a man dependent on how many people agree with me, or just say they agree so I’ll stop obsessing about it.

I’ve been extremely polite toward Sen Cruz supporters going so far as to congratulate the Senators wins. Today, because I support Trump, I’ve been called a cultist. My feelings are hard after this. That is an undeserved low blow. Its going to take a lot more than gathering together singing peace songs for this Trump supporter to get back what once was, a place for conservatives to bond and discuss issues of the day.

Appreciate the sentiment. Here’s a question though. If someone finds themselves in a place where according to their conscience they cannot pull the lever for the nominee (Cruz/Trmp) will they still be loved or respected?
Something tells me no. Something tells me they will be ostracized by the mob because in their political calculus they have determined a good faith reason for not voting for the nominee is voting for Hillary.
I’ve said that if Trump is the nominee that I’m not certain that I would vote for him and that my final decision would probably be made in late October. I have to wait and see what happens after the convention and the nominee begins their four-month slide into centrism.

I’ve always said I’ll vote for Cruz if he manages to win. I don’t see how he has a path to victory at this point and I’m pretty sure he’s GOPe, but I’m not looking to hold any grudges when it’s all said and done.
Anyone that actually wants to president in 2016 has to have something wrong with them, I mean come on, look around. They all suck, it’s like we are fighting over which of the select few happens to be the least bizarre stiff.

Thanks for posting this. I don’t come here very often as I am busy caring for parents, grandchildren, etc. A few months ago I began stopping by again to catch up on election news and I was troubled by the animosity that had arisen in my absence. I think both sides need to take off the rose colored glasses - because I’ve been in both camps and I see red flags in both candidates. HOWEVER - the goal is to save the Republic and Hillary or Bernie ain’t gonna do that.
I’ve never seen this place so contentious. Trump supporters acting as if Cruz were the enemy and vice versa.
Hildebeast is the enemy. And either Cruz or Trump will face that miserable creature in November. And she will have the full backing and slavish support of the MSM.
Whoever makes it to the Republican nomination, the USA NEEDS us to unite behind him.
Four years of Hildebeast after this catastrophic 8 years of Obumagabe will end this nation.
The stakes are too high. Let’s come together and win this in November.

It would be an unstoppable ticket.
If you combine these two Delegates, then it’s game over for the Establishment.
These two need to brokerage a deal to finish off the Establishment.
The alternative is Hillary. The fix is in for her. When she got smoked in NH and came out with more delegates, it became obvious. I am a Trump supporter, but will vote for Cruz should he win. Most people here are extremely politically astute. Hurling insults only hardens their feelings and makes them more resentful.
Now if Trump/Cruz want to win, they have to start changing. First, Cruz needs to go back to being the Anti Establishment candidate, not the Anti Trump candidate. Rubio is on the ropes and teaming up with him will only take Cruz down (he also needs to jettison Glen Beck). Second, now that it is Trumps to lose, he needs to lay off Cruz and continue his Anti Establishment stance. The two need to team up and go after the establishment together. If there is a brokered convention, they should have enough delegates to thwart any shenanigans. Because one thing is for sure. The gopE does not want either of them getting the nod.

The fannish DT/TC squabbling hasn’t really bothered me much, but it does eventually seem a bit silly and boorish, and I tend to avoid such threads.
My prime interest has always been in the obliteration of the GOP-E. That’s of such paramount importance to me, compared to the actual nominee. As for who I went with... Frankly, I’m probably more in line with Trump’s stances and positions. Yet, I just can’t get myself to trust him. He’s been so all-over-the-map on issues, almost as bad as Romney in certain ways. Cruz stubbed his toe on some votes, too. But Cruz is part of a real good conservative turnaround here in Texas, alongside Abbott/Patrick, and old stalwarts like Gohmert. Even my own representative is solid, one of only about 20 who refused to vote for Boehner. This is the first time in my life I think I’ve had such stellar, conservative representation. It’s engendered some Texas loyalty on my part.
So much of this is moot anyway. I think the country is well into its death-spiral, and politics seem pretty darned pointless to me at this point. I don’t even feel any particular allegiance or emotional investment in the country anymore. Not since the faggot-marriage ruling. It’s not a nation I really find any imperative need in preserving anymore.
