More horses heads? The beginning of a new Godfather trilogy scheduled for 2016
Paramount Pictures, one of the biggest players in Hollywood made a huge announcement this morning that will no doubt drive film fans into a frenzy 44 years after its release, the legendary mafia crime-drama The Godfather is getting a remake and whats more, the flick is starring none other than Johnny Depp himself.
In the press release, Paramount Pictures revealed that they had been planning a remake since 2002, but that they had not been able to find anyone who they thought could live up to Marlon Brandos august performance in the original. This is what Francis Ford Coppola, the director of the 1972 film as well as the upcoming remake, had to say: You know when you got a film as successful and as influential as The God Father, theres this unspoken rule in Hollywood that youve got to make a remake and relaunch the story for a new generation. I am not ashamed of this, its what we do in Hollywood and its a great opportunity to create a new exciting version. This project has been on the drawing board for almost 15 years and I was just about to give up on it until 2010 when I saw The Tourist in the cinemas and saw Depps energy and fire, I knew I wanted him to be Vito Corleone. Five years later, we are well into production and are expecting a 2016 release. Working with Depp is a blessing and he is really nailing his role!

If i remember correctly Alex Rocco was a member of Whitey Bulger’s Winter Hill Gang before he took off for Hollywood.
Fredo played by Obama and the one to say goodbye in the boat in that last scene has not been determined yet but it appears the line of applicants includes 75% of the world’s population.
Wink wink.
Instead of prating a rosary, in the last scene Obama quotes the Koran, something he is more comfortable with.
I LOVE YOU! My heart sank reading this! THank you, thank you thank you thank you!!!!
Played by one of those Hollywood finocchio’s...
I can’t imagine that any remake could equal the brilliance of the original Godfather and Godfather II.
Yep the way things are nowadays there will be some sub plot involving homosexual relatives or other LGBT matters.
Dittos!!! Who will be directing ? JJ Abrams? Either way Hollyweird will make a politically correct pos remake out of the Godfather.
I don’t think it will happen.
It’ll be Wonkalicious
Yes, totally fake:

You broke my heart.........anyhoo, The Godfadda is one movie that can’t be remade. It’s in a class all by itself.....LEAVE IT ALONE!
In the period when the movies were set Italians, Irish and Jews were "minorities."
But if you want to include the mob's selling drugs to Harlem and owning gay clubs that was part of the history.
And as for gay, did you miss this?
This may get some blacks nominated.
Yep, I remember Alex Rocco. I remember seeing him quiet alot in the good old days... and Moe just got too big for his britches didn’t he?......:)
I’d only go see it if Ed Wood came back from the dead and directed it!
ping
And there will be seven scenes of Harry hanging by his finger tips from a ledge or cliff.
Guaranteed a scene of Harry slowly rising from fog covered water .357 Magnum first..with lens flare of course.
Give me an f’ing break.
Do not ever try is Follywood. It will not sell.
The movie is a classic and a remake would fail.
They did such a good job remaking Red Dawn /sarc
