Schneiderman: Trump University Fraud 'Pretty Straightforward'
CNN ^ | March 04, 2016 | Chris Isidore

Schneiderman: Trump University Fraud 'Pretty Straightforward' by Chris Isidore @CNNMoney March 4, 2016: New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said that evidence of the fraud perpetrated by Trump University is "pretty straightforward." "It [was] a bait and switch scheme," he said on CNN's New Day Friday, defending his and other lawsuits against the school. "He did ads saying my hand-picked instructors will teach you my personal secrets. You just copy what I did and get rich."

But Schneiderman said evidence in the case makes clear that Trump was not involved in hiring instructors, and that he didn't create the program's curriculum.

"If you tell people we're going to teach you Donald Trump's secrets, and he never had any part in writing the curriculum, that's fraud," Schneiderman said.

Schneiderman said thousands of students paid millions of dollars to the school, which closed in 2010. While the attorney general's suit is a civil suit rather than a criminal action, Trump could face millions in fines, Schneiderman said.

"This is the equivalent of putting up a sign that says Trump Hospital, when it's not, and the people in it aren't nurses and doctors," he said.

So throwing the legal “Concept of innocent until proven guilty” out the window because doing so seems to offer you a temporary political advancement is an example of your notions of “Reason and rational thought”?

If you wish to see the “cultists” around here children, you need only look in the mirror.

Innocent until proven guilty is a legal concept. Does not apply to the so-called "court of public opinion." And my opinion is that Trump "University" was a scam and a fraud.

McDonald’s Hamburger University does not offer classes to the public. It is a cutely named training facility for the company’s franchisees and managers where they learn how to successfully run a fast food restaurant. If “Trump University” was a similar operation, i.e. in-house training for his hotels’ and casinos’ employees and managers no one would question the euphemism “University”. You can argue that anyone stupid enough to fall for such an obvious scam deserved to be taken. And that even though this class action suit started two years before Trump announced his candidacy and three years after TU changed it’s name, you can say the action by the NYAG’s office is politically timed and motivated. But you can’t seriously argue that the whole thing doesn’t reek.

I don’t see where he said he was personally picking the instructors.

If the students were motivated, they’d get rich. Too many think sitting on the couch eating Cheetos while watching the videos will magically make money fall into their laps.

sigh:

THE FACTS: Trump’s school only had an A rating from the Better Business Bureau after it stopped taking students, in 2011. At the time the school was operating, in 2010, news sources reported the D-minus rating. The bureau has said the school’s rating fluctuated.

Another habit of your cultists, you cling to your attack bot dogmas rather then learn from your errors.

Trump also ran a multilevel marketing nutritional supplement scam. He got out of that one the same way, by saying that he hadn’t created it, he just licensed his name - and made personal appearances for them promoting the supplement and the fraudulent “get rich quick” sales program.

Yeah, Trump never makes wild accusations and would never defraud anybody. By the way, where is the information he gathered on Obama’s birth certificate? He never produced it. That was another con game. It was a sham. The guy is estranged from the truth.

Wonder what CNN would come up with if they spent this much time on Rubio’s credit card or Obama-style real estate deals. Or on Cruz’s undisclosed low interest bank loans from his wife’s boss.

If there had been anything to the charges, no matter how good his lawyers are, it would have wound through the courts within 6 months and he’d be in jail or getting hand cramps from writing checks.

MARCH 2011:
...a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released in March 2011 found Trump leading among potential contenders.

( * * * So TRUMP looks like a contender in running for President, and guess what....)

MAY 2011:
...the company was the subject of an inquiry by the New York Attorney General's office for illegal business practices that culminated in a lawsuit filed on August 24, 2013

Rotten will run wall-to-wall commercials featuring disgruntled former students of Trump U. It will never go away. That’s why I think that Rotten might win against him.

Plus he claims to have had a 98% approval rating on the "university" Yet he had 25% of students demanding refunds. How does that make any sense?

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) - Donald Trump doesn't dispute that 25% of Trump University students demanded their money back, but he says that's not a knock against his real estate school.

What Donald Trump said under oath about Trump University

Hamburger University. It exists in McDonald's Corporate HQ in Oakbrook, IL. McDonald's employees from across the country ... attend it

Owners and managers attend it.

Hamburger University isn't accredited.

Yes, it is. Credits earned there are transferable towards degrees at other colleges.

I don’t see where he said he was personally picking the instructors.

Here is what Trump himself said in promotional videos for the "University":

"You're going to have professors, and adjunct professors that are absolutely terrific. Terrific people, terrific brains, successful. You're going to have the best of the best. And, honestly, if you don't learn from them, if you don't learn from me, if you don't learn from the people we're going to be putting forward--and these were all people that are hand-picked by me--then, you're just not going to make it, in terms of the world of success."

Check the court documents in the link I provided up thread. He states on Video that he “personally picks the instructors” however his deposition that was leaked in December IF correct has him admitting he did no such thing.

He will be completely trashed when his deposition and testimony becomes public in July. He will try behind the scenes between now and then to make this all go away.

Most likely he will buy everyone off and claim he is doing it to get rid of the distraction during the election. Even though he talked tough last night.

You have to ask your self if he was so confident in his case why he attempted to counter sue before it went to trial?

This reeks right up there with his Hiring those Illegal Polish workers to save from having to pay into the American Construction workers pension fund.

He’s a slimeball.
